In 2008, Kelly “Fierce” Burdge embarked on a journey to realize his longtime dream of becoming a singer/songwriter. Drawing on experiences from his own life, Burdge began writing music, and refining his ideals regarding what a rock band should be. The project continued to develop, and he enlisted the aid of John LeCompt (2008 Grammy Nominated guitarist for Evanescence/We Are The Fallen/Machina) and Phil Taylor (Future Leaders of the World/Machina).

As the music evolved and was recorded, the CD began to tell a story from beginning to end about love, hate, and the never ending challenge of relationships. Burdge named the project NoMara, deriving the name from the Buddhist lord of misfortune, sin, destruction, and death, Mara. As such, NoMara means our partner is not Mara and should not be abused as if they are the evil one.

Upon the completion of NoMara’s debut CD, Burdge put together a touring band and NoMara hit the road in late 2008. NoMara thrilled audiences from California to Ohio, supporting such national acts as Tesla, Pop Evil, and The Veer Union, while furthering their fan base nationwide.

NoMara consists of Burdge (Lead Vocals); Nicky Now (Guitar/Vocals); S.T. Prater (Guitar/Vocals); Matthew Paul (Bass/Vocals); and Andrew Perkins (Drums), all accomplished musicians and writers from across the country.

NoMara continues to tour in support of their debut CD, and maintains a strong presence on the World Wide Web, being voted “The Next Big Thing” in July 2009 and named Artist of the Month August 2009 by Alternative Addiction. NoMara’s music will soon be added to the Pandora Radio playlist and the bands MySpace profile boasts nearly 20,000 friends from across the country.
