No Monster Club is Bobby Aherne, a Dubliner who used play under the stupid name Dublin Duck Dispensary. These days he builds his own his bedroom pop from loops by artists like the 1910 Fruitgum Company, John Baker, The Four Seasons, Sandy Nelson, and Sir Victor Uwaifo. He’s a bit like Girl Talk, if Girl Talk wasn’t the worst fucking dude in history.
Here are two tracks to stream and download, plus the good video for “A Morbid Fascination.” - Vice

Originally a one-man show, Dublin’s No Monster Club has blossomed into The Emerald Isle’s premiere jangle-thrash trio. Masters of 3-minute exuberant pop nuggets, the band has developed a nice little regional following, as well as caught the attention of artists like Ariel Pink, Sic Alps, Jeff The Brotherhood and Wavves, all of whom they’ve shared bills.
The newly-released Young Guts Champion EP finds the lads honing their songcraft without sacrificing their youthful exuberance, and I would be pretty surprised if these boys don’t begin pricking up American ears in the very near future. So, have a listen, and if you like what you hear here, beeline to the band’s website for oodles of free goodies. - My Old Kentucky Blog

No Monster Club is a Dublin band fronted by primary songwriter and founder Bobby Aheme. Bobby formally played music by his lonesome but has since fleshed out his sound to incorporate a touring band. Below you’ll find a sample of this new garage rock styling band in the form of “The Last Bottle in the World”. A new EP is said to be coming soon from these guys so I expect you to pay attention. - Austin Townhall

No Monster Club is the brainchild of former Dublin Duck Dispenser Bobby Aherne. He has also recruited two parts of Grand Pocket Orchestra to his cause.
The trio came on the radar after witnessing last months ’One’s to Watch’ showcase in Whelan’s. They did their level best to blow the roof off Whelan’s with their chaotic, high energy performance. It was easily the finest set of the weekend.
Apart from pilfering shows they bash out some of the finest lo-fi, garage indie-pop you are likely to hear. These charming, short bursts of energetic pop are a mixture of sunshine surf-rock and hyper rough-a-round the edges Strokes-esque loveliness. Hopefully they are with us for sometime to come.
Keep an eye out for their live shows and check the wonderful Young Guts Champion. It gets better, next on the agenda is a split cassette album with our good friends We Are Losers. - Barry Gruff

No Monster Club’s “The Last Bottle in the World” is a quick blast of unsteady, ramshackle pop. True to its name, the song sounds like it could just fall over at any moment, but it manages to stay upright thanks to a chorus of friends singing “la la la”. No Monster Club’s EP, Young Guts Champion, is full of unassuming jams, so grab it over at the band’s Bandcamp. - Music For Kids Who Can't Read Good

No Monster Club is Bobby Aherne, who used to go by the name Dublin Duck Dispensary. He was a fascinating artist then, mining the garage rock territories and DIY guitar rock scenes better than anyone it seemed and now, he's even closer to editing himself down to only the ragged meat and potatoes. Find your evidence here with the video for "Slow Learner", off the Web-released EP Young Guts Champion. - The Culture Of Me

This Irish group made a nice impression on me with their video for “Last Bottle In the World.” It’s not quite stop motion, but it’s clearly stitched together from a series of still shots of a trio’s trip to the beach. - You Ain't No Picasso

No Monster Club's tropical garage-pop is immediately soothing to the ears. I feel like I'm at a luau in the late 60's. It definitely becomes more intriguing when you find out that such wonderful beachy vibes are coming from one dude in Dublin - Get Off The Coast

The brainchild of Dublin lad Bobby Aherne (him of the ever-wonderful Grand Pocket Orchestra), No Monster Club specialises in layered-up pop rock with a swinging tropical twist. 'The Last Bottle In The World' is a bit of a lo-fi paradox - slick yet messy, evocative but not nostalgic - and it's the most moreish two minutes of choonage we've heard in eons. - Hotpress

Few people produce the level of raw garage pop master pieces like Irishman Bobby Aherne... his music is as homemade and lo-fi as it gets. But, that’s what’s so great about it. There’s something about music that simple, that rough, and still that fun that gives you hope in what the heart of music really is - Smoke Don't Smoke

I wish I had written this song. I wish I had made this video. I wish I was at this beach. I wish I had that girlfriend. I wish I had that dude as my friend. I wish I knew how to post videos on vimeo. This whole thing made me feel a little down, but then after listening to this song and watching this video again I got super happy all over again. Oh what a tangled web we weave. Besides all that, this is rad!!! - Indie Rock Reviews

Bio
No Monster Club is an Irish indie pop featuring Bobby Aherne (Dublin Duck Dispensary), Mark Chester (Ginnels) and Paddy Hanna (Grand Pocket Orchestra).
Their fervent live energy - and cult hits like 'La La Land', 'The Last Bottle In The World', 'Wish Me Well', 'Be My Bone' and 'A Morbid Fascination' - has been inspiring crowdsurfing across Europe for years (as well as a different kind of surfing - with their music featured in several acclaimed Australian surf movies). Along the way, they have also performed alongside the likes of Wavves, Jeffrey Lewis, Ariel Pink, So Cow, Sic Alps, The Polyphonic Spree, Jeff The Brotherhood, Girls Names, Abe Vigoda and HEALTH.
This September, they'll be playing a 21 date tour of America to promote the reissue of two out-of-print records (after around a dozen sold-out releases on labels based in America, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Italy, Holland, England, Australia and Spain).
Their new album 'Foie Gras' will be released in January 2014.
"Like The Libertines and Dan Deacon, they are a band quite visibly fueled by a sense of camaraderie with their fans, a back-and-forth live experience that feeds off the room and often feels as much house-party as gig." - Asleep On The Compost Heap
