Bio

At the end of the summer of 2007, Dwight d'Eon had become a household name to millions of people across Canada. The top 4 finalist on CTV's Canadian Idol had reached a high point in his career and proven his worth against thousands of other young singers, in order to secure his rank amongst the alumni of Idol's elite.

But, instead of riding the coat tails of this mainstream success, d'Eon decided to do things on his own terms. It could have been easier to find a team of "hit" writers that could serve him the right material and release a well assembled package, but d'Eon was much more interested in pursuing his passions as a songwriter, and as an independent artist.

After 3 months of intense writing sessions, d'Eon emerged from his small Halifax, NS rehearsal studio with a collection of material that would become the foundation for the biggest and most ambitious undertaking he'd ever endeavored.

In December 2007, d'Eon, along with friends, Aran Hill (bass), Tommy Maillet (drums) and Adam Driscoll (violin), moved into Sound Market Studios in Halifax, NS and began tracking for the new album. Dwight took it upon himself to fully engineer, mix and produce the album, along with studio owner, Terry Pulliam (Sloan, Buck 65) acting as co-producer.

What ensued was a grueling 6 month recording schedule, filled with 14-17 hr days, an almost obsessive-compulsive attention to detail and countless hours of re-writes, in order to achieve the sonic and artistic watermark d'Eon had set for himself.

With a release date expected for the end of summer 2008, the newly christened Dwight d'Eon and The Nation will be appearing at a venue near you.
