"Why would you choose to do a Christian CD as your first solo album?" to answer this most frequently asked question, I say," God is the one who gave me my abilites and talents, this is my way of thanking Him. I do not choose to limit myself only to the Christian Genre, but it will definitely always be a part of my music because faith is a part of me."
my songwriting started at a very young age, but I actually started completing songs at age 15. Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, John Denver, were all big influences in my musical journey. I have played in bands that have played both country and rock. Once in a while it feels good to let loose on a song like Alanis Morsette's "YOu Oughta Know," but for the most part I'm definitely a country girl!
As I start the promotion of this new Christian CD, I am doing shows with my daughter singing back-up and using a background track as I play keys or rhythm guitar. we are taking our time to find the right mix of players for this group. We are able to give a gospel show as well as putting in country originals and covers as well. What a great mix for family orientated gatherings!
