Bio

Just Gracey is a Mother/son duo consisting of the singer songwriter/author Olivia Gracey and her sixteen year old son Ty Gracey. They began their journey as a team four years ago in Nashville performing at a songwriter’s fest for fun and grins. Their song “Muddle Muddle Mess” has quickly become a favorite with rising request. They released their first Album “Just Gracey - Unplugged” in March 2013.
“Original Sound” …“Fine musicianship”….

Olivia has been writing songs since she was a child being heavily influenced by her very active country music family. Her Mom and Dad were staples in Nashville when Olivia was a child. Her mother wrote for Acuff/Rose and her Dad played lead in her band as they toured the country sharing their music. Country music has always been a big part of Olivia’s life. It wasn’t until a few years ago that she penned the song “Something” that reawakened her creative style. Her passion for writing has since opened the door to her new authorship as she pens fiction novels in her spare time.

At the age of nine, Ty sang “Folsom Prison Blues” in a talent show for school. With his ease in front of a crowd and loving personification of Johnny Cash, he stole the hearts of students and faculty. Soon after, Ty began learning every song he could on his little guitar. He joined his Mom on stage three years later at a songwriter’s festival in Nashville. By the second show he was hooked and begged to do it again. Ty has since become one with his favorite guitar, as well as mastered the skills of his Electric guitar, Ukulele, Banjo, Piano, and his newly built Cajon.

“Muddle Muddle Mess” was their first composed song together. They have crafted more including “For the last time”, “I Believe”, “What the Good Lord Gave You” and the recent single released for sale “Riding Shotgun”. Olivia gets sassy in her songwriting as in “Not a Lady to some” or “Drink Until he’s Ugly” but Ty brings a Jazz style in just to throw off the genre with “Wishmaker”. They released a studio video of their song "Monkenshine" in Feb 2014. The diversity of this duo keeps you engaged and makes it hard to pick a favorite when you hear them play.

They have auditioned for Blue Bird, Played the annual Songwriters Festival, traveled out west and continue to drive the interstate to let Nashville hear their music.

They play with passion. Their music is soulful. It’s heartfelt. It’s unique. As Olivia calls it “It’s a mix of an Old Chic and a New Generation.” Music you definitely need to hear. A Mother/Son folk duo; has there ever been one?
