"Norman Records"

They sing beautiful harmony and have a preference for dual twinkle attack on the old six string, which almost always bodes well and Norabelle are no exception to the rule. Fantastically steady, melodic folk music immaculately recorded to make the best of the simple ingredients. 'Pins and Needles' being the best example of Norbelle's simple majesty. (Norman Records) - Norman Records

"Hotpress"

‘The nicely titled Come The Bluest Dawn features four soft, mellow and low key acoustic songs that, as the title indicates, are best played very late at night...fans of the likes of Adrian Crowley, Elliot Smith or Will Oldham will find much to love here. (Hotpress) - Hotpress Magasine

"Losing Today"

One of those releases that we suggest you find a quiet spot, fetch yourself a brew, maybe some handkerchiefs (believe you me when I say you will be thankful for them), pull up your pew nice and close, close your eyes and let yourself drift away to the tingling timbres unfolding within. Pretty hard trying to avoid getting caught by this release, beautifully bruised and tenderly crafted...... what makes this release so captivating and indeed alluring is that its cast adrift with a ceaseless and frailly fragile melancholic undercurrent that if we didn’t know any better would have to say it’d had been the work of a less intensely and emotionally crippled Red House Painters - it’s the kind of bitter sweet awe that makes you want to throw your arms around it in sympathy or at the very least have you numbed, biting your lip and humbled in its company. (Losing Today Magasine) - Losing Today Magasine

"Road Records"

this is a really lovely collection of laid back acoustic folk sounds with plenty of nods towards the sounds of the likes of red house painters, elliott smith and mark kozeleks solo material. features four beautifully arranged acoustic based tracks with a lovely sparse minimalism about them.(Road Records) - Road Records

"Woodwork Music"

Hailing from Dublin, charming two-some Ken Clarke and Shane O’Hanrahan comprise the unusually named, captivatingly heady, melancholic acoustic duo Norabelle.

Despite little in the way of information on offer about Norabelle, (apart from the name apparently coming from a mysterious Irish woman) debut release “Come The Bluest Dawn” tells us all we need to know with its numbingly tender hymnal elegance and Gaelic rusticity.

The four-track-EP has garnered praise from fans and critics alike (despite its limited release) and the presence of the harmonic, quietly hypnotic nature of Simon and Garfunkel, Nick Drake, The Shins, Bright Eyes, Joanna Newsom and Red House Painters shines throughout.

Track “Still” is a majestic, light-headed, romantic serenade with an alluring, humbling quality while the sea faring, idyllic offering “Lemon” has such a fragile, bitter sweet awe that you almost feel like throwing your arms around it in sympathy. - Woodwork Music
