"10 NJ Acts You Need To Know"

The one thing that first caught my attention about NO RISK was the wave and tentacle having creature poking out of the drawing on the top of their Myspace page. I had drawn a picture similar to that a few days before out of boredom. Fate? Quite possibly. NO RISK reminds me of Sublime with that classic Jersey twist. The comparison coming from the song Psychedelic Swim. Of all the Jersey bands that have been recommended to me I've come to notice this very distinct sound that labels it Jersey. I can't quite place it but it's more than evident when you pay attention. NO RISK is no different. When I hit play on their Myspace player I see the gray sky of Jersey and smell the acrid smell of Newark. I'm almost ready to start grumbling about the lack of left turns and their stupid U-turns stationed 3 miles away from where you needed to be. And let me tell you, for a band to draw up those kinds of images with such ease is impressive. The lead and back vocals coax you happily as the music leads you into the seedy glow that is The Great Demise. For those of you who have been to NJ and even for those of you who haven't, catch a glimpse, buy the album, and experience the lack-of-left-turn love that will scar you forever. - Nyghtscene.com

"Johnny Taint's Album Review"

No Risk - "The Great Demise" - These Jersey Boys know how to add the Punk to Rock. This CD is lyricaly very well thought out and has a well rounded reflection of the Punk scene. It includes political statements towards the government, the punk "scene", religion, and everyday life. No Risk is one of those bands that doesn't fit a particular sub-genre of punk, they are just a Punk Band. On "The Great Demise" each songs seems to have a slightly different sound. The quality of the CD's sound is excellent and hard to believe it is a DIY production. My favorite song on "The Great Demise" is, "We'll take it from here". Check them out at www.norisknj.com
