"Norman Foote concert review"

"Altogether Sophisticated" - Los Angeles Times

"Picture On The Fridge CD review"

"Dynamic instrumentals and Norman Foote's slightly off the wall vocal phrasings add up to a tasty mix.
- Lynne Heffley - LA Times

"Nashville Symphony Orchestra"

I want to take a quick moment and express our sincere praise for the musicianship and talents of Norman Foote. We knew from listening to his recordings in the office that we would enjoy his music, but little did we know what a tremendous show he would put on. The audience responded immediately to Norman's comfortable, on-stage performance: His unique physical comedy combined with his up-beat music and witty lyrics transcend the ages.
The musicians of the orchestra certainly didn't keep it a secret that they thoroughly enjoyed this concert.
- Alan D. Valentine

"Prime Minister Jean Chretien"

"Norman Foote gave a command performance for Prime Minister Jean Chretien in Calgary - June '96. The Prime Minister sang and clapped along to Norman's song "Mainstreet Canada" and laughed heartily at Norman's Talking Head routine. Mr. Chretien quirked at the microphone a few minutes later, "Norman, I want that puppet head so that I can put it on the leader of the opposition party" - Calgary Herald

"Concert Review"

"It's easy to see why (Foote) is so popular - he's as much a comedian
as he is a musician and he quickly gets the audience laughing." - Calgary Herald

"Review"

"with Foote's quirky songs, the joints always jumping" - Los Angeles Times

"RMOW Manager, Whistler Village Animation"

"The entire First Night 2006 event was great and I thought Norman Foote's show in Village Square was the highlight of the evening. I had so much fun watching him work his magic with the crowd. Parents, teenagers and young adults were all having a blast. Everyone was connected through the show, it was really special". - Bob Andrea

"Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival"

Thanks for performing at the Festival. I was a little worried who to put on
before the Pointer Sisters but I knew if anyone could handle it YOU
COULD....thanks for filling the spot.

- Linda Tanaka

"The Riviera - Las Vegas, NV"

The delegates received your performance with tremendous enthusiasm and could not have been more pleased with your decision to appear in Las Vegas. - Thomas F. Lee - President-American Federation of Musicians

Bio

WINNER OF 2010 Juno and WCMA for CD "Love My new Shirt"
Born Norman Mervyn Barrington-Foote, claims his name forced him to develop a sense of humour at an early age. At age 11, Norman's parents gave him his first guitar, a finely crafted instrument from the Sears Catalogue.

This set the stage for a lifelong dream. With idols including The Beatles, Hank Williams and Elvis.

Norman has created a very special niche with his irreverent comedy and skillful music performing concerts worldwide.
The first thing that impresses you is how he holds his audiences in the palm of his hand. Foote's original tunes and song choices run the gamut from country inspired creations to numbers with humorous lyrics and punch lines.. His shows have always been sing and laugh along. Foote puts his talent as an impersonator to fine use in a routine that he refers to as a "twist on tradition". What if the Garth Brooks and Frank Sinatra,Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan.... sang Old McDonald?
Props with an attitude?? Norman brings one volunteer on stage. The volunteer has to play the "talking head"; a grunge-type head where Foote operates the mouth from a cable and the helper has to act out Foote's outrageous shenanigans.

Put all these songs, skits and humour together and the end result is an unique experience in the company of one highly versatile artist who demonstrates that clever word play and a casual and engaging delivery can make the generation gap narrow or even disappear.

Norman has received several awards and critical acclaim for his music and comedy. He has worked with and shared the stage with a wide range of entertainment icons as diverse as the Walt Disney Records to Waylon Jennings.

He has appeared at these venues and festivals to name a few.
