Bio

Norman Falvo is a working musician based in Melbourne, Australia.

In his early years he studied music (piano) at The Melbourne Conservatorium and later at Latrobe University before embarking
on a full time career specifically in the rock scene.

He had already played in many original and cover bands during the 80’s
and used the experiences to hone his skills particularly in songwriting
which to this day remains his passion.

Having had a formal training background he has been able to use his technique to explore many styles including rock, jazz, classical and folk. Although primarily a piano/keyboard player, over time he has
developed as a singer and also plays some guitar.

During the early 90’s he hooked up with core members of what was to become the successful rock band Chocolate Starfish. Whilst living
In Los Angeles trying to break the band overseas they received an offer
from EMI Australia to release what was to become their first single, the Carly Simon penned classic ‘You’re So Vain.’ Shortly after, the self-titled
Chocolate Starfish album was recorded at EMI studios, Sydney.

Norman recorded and toured the first album which went on to achieve platinum sales status. He was a co-writer on various tracks of the album including ‘Mountain’ which was a top 10 hit during that time.

Post Starfish saw Norman returning to live and studio work mainly around Melbourne. He wrote and recorded with his own band ‘Quandary’
which played some small shows around Melbourne.

He occasionally toured as a member of Max Merritt And The Meteors, but for the most part worked locally and continued to write.

Some of his songs were used as background tracks in the series Neighbours,
and he wrote the theme for a regional TV series called Australian life.

Today he maintains his involvement in the live scene whilst teaching piano at secondary school level. He also continues to write, play, sing and record his own material.
