NORTH is a collection of Nordic folk melodies interpreted by eclectic voices, where layers of vocal harmony & human beatbox evoke the frosty chill of nature.
Created by MaJiKer, the project features traditional melodies from Iceland, Sweden and Norway with new lyrics written in English about nature.
It’s a love letter to the beautiful landscapes of the NORTH.
The recording of the album is ongoing and features vocals from a remarkable selection of artists from all over the world, whose names shall be announced in due course.
For the accompanying live performance, MaJiKer also brings together some exquisite singers to interpret these melodies. The show regularly features You Are Wolf vocalist Kerry Andrew and the acclaimed soprano Sarah Dacey, as well as surprise guest performers likely to appear at each performance.
The première performance for NORTH takes place in London on 27th March 2013.
