In North Allen's musical view, the journey is as important as the destination, maybe even more so. Since emerging in early 2002 from Albany, NY, North Allen has gained a loyal following of fans and completed one self-titled CD. They are currently mastering a second disc to come out in May.
North Allen is primarily a modern acoustic rock band with influences that represent several genres of music including rock, jazz, and funk. They're off to a great start in 2005, booking shows in Albany, Saratoga, Pennsylvania, and Boston and expanding their fan base as they hit some new bars in Albany's Capital Region. As guitarist Matt Greco says, 'We are musicians who are out there searching for ways to better our craft. We are not content staying in one place.'
North Allen's members are as much fans of music as they are musicans. Their diverse music selection can be traced back to each member's varied musical background. Naming a number of different influences including Motley Crue, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, Matchbox 20, Creed, Bob Seger, Led Zeppelin and many more, fans can hear why one North Allen song rarely sounds the same as the next.
Last year North Allen added electric guitar to the mix and fans have embraced the change. As North Allen heads into 2005 ready to launch a new CD and booking shows in new cities, they can only hope this is the year that the band reaches the next level in taking their music to the masses.
