"Top picks of original music for June"

Dammit, I really hope NOR gets signed to a label. From the cover picture of them jamming in the garage (complete with water heater) to the shameless announcement of having 20 people at their last gig, these guys deserve a shot. And, hell, their songs are pretty freaking catchy for a band that's been together for four months! This is radio-friendly punk/rock, sort of a Chevelle thing going on - Impact Press

"live review"

An excellent pop/rock band with the emphasis on rock. The vocalist has a signature voice with a fantastic range that brings a command of melody to his songwriting. Not often heard in today's bereft of melody rock bands - Essra Mohawk, Evidence recording artist/songwriter

"show review"

Great showtime rock sound. Showtime rock bands are really quite rare in the music business. A very unusual and creative approach to the music. This band truly has a shot at the big time - Robert Metzgar, Capitol Management Group

BIO:
Formed in December 2003, North of Reason forms a potent blend of genres that is refreshing and contemporary, fitting two former members of Far From Rite (Dave Corbett, Thom Durkin) with two new members found fresh off other musical endeavors (Manny Argyle, Mike McCarthy). The result: a fresh, unique, musical goodness.

Mixing the angst of punk with the heart of emo, the scream of distortion with the whisper of harmony, and the ability to transcend the meaningless “sounds-like” comparisons and musical genres pegged on today’s bands, minus the mania and “flavor of the week’s” that plague radio and cover-band circuits like a dark cloud.

Now the clouds have cleared. Fresh off their original demo CD, North of Reason is cutting their teeth at area open mics, radio shows, and small venues throughout the Philadelphia area…but the stage is no stranger for any of these guys…just a second home they find in the music they write and perform together.

With an EP and live DVD in the works, North of Reason is poised to take the Philadelphia music scene, and beyond, by storm.
