Bio
NSNSND was formed in 2009 out of the ashes of NYC punk band The Quick Flings. Frontman Andy Ziats and bassist Mark Hugo wanted a new group that could build up a repertoire and play regular gigs, so they recruited former Stewart drummer Ryan D'Angelo to play guitar, and picked up Paul Stavish (also from alternative rockers The Asterisk) to play drums. The band was built on a shared love of old heavy metal (thrash, death, NWOBHM), as well as early hardcore (Misfits, Black Flag, DKs), and while the musical tastes of the four members stretch much farther, this is where they focus their sound.
The band doesn't bother with the brooding or angst or social outrage of most metal or hardcore bands, instead focusing on the fun side of heavy metal's outlandish worldview and punk's revenge-centric lyrics.
The band has recruited Saysha Heinzman (current bass player of The Jamies) as their new bass player.
