NoSoLaR

NoSoLaR is a new group of three musicians who have come from entirely different backgrounds, cultures, and countries, and have now found residence in Toronto, Canada. Their music is psychedelic in nature, completely improvised in approach, and is reminiscent of the Krautrock movement that overtook Germany in the early 1970's. Joined by their love of avant-garde, progressive, experimental, and dark works that go beyond music and extend to art and film, NoSoLaR has found common ground in creating musical landscapes that are as evocative as their influences.

Making their live debut in the summer of 2006 to pay tribute to Pink Floyd’s Syd Barrett, NoSoLaR quickly proved they astound even the most veteran audiences. In the summer of 2007 they improvised for 2 hours straight with Krautrock Legend Damo Suzuki of Can as part of his Damo Suzuki Network.

What started as an experiment in 2005 has become a sanctuary of sorts for the musicians involved—a necessary ritual. This is a trip that continues to evolve and explore unexpected pathways, never doubling back… a trip where the journey, for those who should care to listen, is indeed its own reward.
