Bio

Arlington based Note13 was formed in 2007 by longtime friends and band mates Bob Allen and Jeff Poteat. After playing in various projects together for several years Bob and Jeff realized they shared a unique chemistry and formed Note13. In a brief time Note13 has grown from a duet playing a few scattered dates to one of the Dallas Fort Worth areas hardest working entertainment entities.

Note13 members are:

Jeff Poteat: Keyboards, guitar, vocals and writer. Jeff is, to be frank, a child prodigy. Classically trained and road hardened, Jeff has played professionally since he was a young teenager. He has toured with soul bands, played for national acts, teaches music, works for churches, arranges and produces musicals.etc. etc. Jeff is a phenomenal vocalist, a freak on keyboards and a seasoned entertainer.

Bob Allen: Lead and rhythm guitars, vocals and songwriter. Bob is your prototypical roadhouse Texas rock and blues lead guitar player. Playing with passion and fire, Bob is the perfect foil for Jeff. Bob has played the north Texas bar circuit for years in multiple bands, playing styles from 80s metal to red-dirt Texas country. In addition, Bob is a well known and respected area songwriter and entertainer.

It is together that Bob and Jeff make their real magic. Throw Rachmaninoff, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Sting, Tom T Hall, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Alan Parsons and Richard Cheese into a blender and you might have an idea as to what Chameleons influnces are. This unique blend manefests itself into a musically intense, fast paced, crowd friendly show. Bob and Jeff routinely break the fourth wall to connect with and involve the crowd by filling requests, bringing audience members on stage, and ad-libbing comedic commercials.

In a remarkably short time, Bob and Jeff have not only been booking virtually weekly dates in Note13, but together or individually they have also:

Appeared in a major release motion picture Walking Tall, the Payback
Hosted dozens of live television shows on KERA
Appeared regularly with the Ad Libs comedy troupe in Dallas
Had roles in several award winning independent short films
Appeared in infommercials and commercials (Hey, it pays!)
Done voice over work for a national commercial
Worked with many live stage productions
Was the house band for the taping of the pilot for The Yundrae Show

Over their respective careers they have:

Performed withTravis Tritt, The Marvelettes, Archie Bell, Shagtime and others

Opened for...38 Special, E U, Patti Labelle, The Drifters, America, Delbert McClinton, Bill Cosby, George Thorogood, Petra, Gary Chapman and The Bellamy Brothers

Written and recorded comedy songs that were aired during both drive time shows on Sports Radio 1310 AM The Ticket

Note13's music varies according to the situation. As a cover band they play a great variety of rock, R&B, blues and a touch of jazz. Note13 strikes the perfect balance of songs you expect to hear and songs that make you say Wow! I cant believe they played thatI love that song!

Note13 is also known in the songwriting circles of North Texas, and has had a number of works recorded by other artists. Their original songs blend great musicianship, a sense of humor, timeless styles and great stories. Finally, Note13 has a side project, Turnabout; which plays a unique brand of thoughtful and often humorous spiritual music at local churches. Note13 is currently recording their debut CD.

Note13 has played civic events for the cities of Dallas, Rockwall and Balch Springs; outdoor concerts for the Dallas West End, charity events benefiting the cure for cancer among other causes, as well as weddings, private parties, country clubs, corporate events and of course, clubs, restaurants and songwriter venues throughout North Texas.
