Bio

The band's latest EP, "The Best Kept Secret," shows that Nothing But Excuses has a lot to say and offer; starting with the title. “It pretty much describes how we feel about our music and where we are at,” says Lauren Green (vocals). “We feel like we have great songs and we are right on the bubble of getting them out to a much wider audience.”

The disc itself, a seven song sampling of contagiously good hooks and lyrics, shows off the musical diversity of the band. Lauren Green's introspective lyrics set against a backdrop of catchy guitar melodies, offer a rare feminine perspective in the new era of rock-and-roll. From the radio-friendly pop songs "Crash" and "Romeo + Hyde" to the garage-rock opus of "The Sharpest Word" and ending with the post-punk finale "Last Day," NBE proves they have a lot to offer to fans of different kinds of music. The songs themselves, masterfully produced by Jason Rubal at Seventh Wave Studios, are a testament to catchy guitar melodies, soaring vocals, and good old-fashioned songwriting.

Since the release of the EP in 2008, the band is looking to push the cd into the hands of as many people as they can, be it through shows, radio play, or contacts within the music industry. Regardless of what happens, NBE is a band that has something to say. Can you help get The Secret out?
