Nothing Pretty

Nothing Pretty was founded early 2006 by guitarist Charlie Bat and bassist Puking Luke McDoushe. Two accomplished musicians, both coming to Seattle from the south. Charlie hailing from Nashville, Tn. and Luke from West Virginia. Charlie had worked with some of the best punk bands to come out of Nashville, Hyper Kinetic Youth and Ball Peen Hernia. Also a short lived studio project with Mylissa Baucombe and Ty Toll both from Childern Shouldn't Die another great Nashville band. Charlie moved to Seattle early in '03, he found a slot in the Spokane/ Portland, Maine band Vampire Lezbos. Still wanting to play his own music he searched and searched for a band. Finally finding Pukin' Luke McDoushe after placing adds in two local music publications. The two started to write and bought a shy Chinaman for $30. Gave him a crash course in English, and drums. They played together for a mere month while all the time looking for the perfect man to step in and take the words and music they had, and bring it to life! After placing what seemed to be a thousand adds looking for our voice, he answered saying " I like Kieth Morris!" Handsome Hank Chinaski has become that voice. Seattle native and long time solo artist, Hank stepped up to fill the shoes that had not yet been worn. His soulful vocals blend with the raunchy guitar and a rythm section from Hell, to create a sound all their own. With songs a lot of "Punk" bands of today don't go near. Songs about love and fucking. Speaking out about current issues and light hearted drinking songs. Hardcore punk into Ramones influenced ballads. A woderful blend and balance of Punk with a touch of metal, and a smidge of Southern Rawk! If you've been unable to see these guys it's about time you did. Many a rumor has been spread about the origin of the name "Nothing Pretty". The truth is Charlie Bat looked around the room one evening after rehersal and said "There ain't Nothing pretty about any of us!"
