Biography

We have been playing together for a few years, and mostly playing cover songs. We are just beginning to swing into the area of original songs.

Jeff's been playing for around 20 years. He's also been teaching kids to play guitar for many years.

Gene's been playing for around 30 years.

Ken's only been playing for 2 years. He's also just begun writing songs.

The trio have been playing together for only a year and a half, with only three major gigs in that time with two of them being benifits for charity. The first gig involved a drummer, and was met with great success. The second was also successful, but was performed with no drummer, and as an all accoustic night. Both gigs helped to raise $3000 total for Autistic Research.

Lyrics

Brother

Written By: Ken Peabody

He loved cars, and bars, and the Pats,
Protected the weak and innocent.
Lived large and loved his family.
He was generous and full of wit.

Chorus
Brother, we miss your smile
Brother, we miss your laugh.
Brother, we miss your touch
Why are you only in the past?

He worked too hard and played too little.
Always the best, he can’t be outdone.
But he should have taken more time,
To be around his loved ones.

Repeat Chorus

He was born to loving parents,
Who saw the greatness in his eyes.
All they wanted for him was the best,
But he was too young when he died.

Repeat Chorus x2

Thanks

They fight for our country,
Standing shoulder to shoulder.
They know they may never
Grow any older.
They fight for our lives,
So our country survives.
If you value your freedom,
Thank a soldier.

If your daughter’s in school
They’ll try to reach her.
They will educate your son
Like no other.
Great thinkers they create,
From the minds they shape.
If you value your mind,
Thank a teacher.

Their lives are on the line
Just to keep the peace.
They’ve sworn to protect us,
And set us at ease.
Criminals they arrest,
Of this they are obsessed.
If you value your safety,
Thank the police.

She gave birth to you,
And maybe a sibling.
She gives you her love and
Cares like no other.
You she adores,
Your faults she ignores.
If you value your life,
Thank your mother.

The Poorboy Blues

Written By: Ken Peabody

The rent check is due,
But I don’t have a clue
If I can pay it.
Gotta pay for cable,
But I don’t think I’m able
To make it.

Power will get shut off
Unless I get more
Of a paycheck.
Gas company’s yellin’,
And I keep on tellin’ ‘em
I sent a check.

I got the poorboy blues.
I don’t got no excuse.
I got the poorboy blues.
I got nothin’ more to lose.

I live in poverty,
I don’t own no property,
‘Cause my credit sucks.
I don’t quite make enough
To even buy the stuff
To feed the ducks.

The truck went to the bank.
I saw it and my heart sank.
Couldn’t even say bye.
My ex gets my support.
Don’t leave me room & board.
She gets most of the pie.

I got the poorboy blues.
I don’t got no excuse.
I got the poorboy blues.
I got nothin’ more to lose.

A Dog Ran Into The Road

Written By: Ken Peabody

A dog ran into the road one day.
A dump truck tried to swerve away.
Hit a pole and the power went out.
Lots of folks watching, milling about.
Traffic backed up for a mile or two.
Emergency vehicles couldn’t get through.
To the hospital a couple were driving.
Hoped to get there, Did anybody care?
Was it after the baby's arriving?

A ball came bouncing from a house.
Behind it came a child following close.
First car saw it and slammed it’s brakes.
Next car saw it just a little too late.
Tempers were flaring over trading paint.
If only they’d realized the damage was faint.
A student is trying to learn the laws.
People go around him, honking and cursing.
Not realizing they’re showing their flaws.

I Was There

Written By: Ken Peabody

Are you ready for life?
Have you learned enough?
Can you cope with strife?
Have I made you tough?

I was there when you were born
So cute, and so well-formed.
I was there when you first talked
And again, when you first walked
I was there when you learned to read
You caught on quick, easier than dreamed

Are you ready for life?
Have you learned enough?
Can you cope with strife?
Have I made you tough?
Will you make it through?
Are you all you can be?
I wonder what you’ll do
Because you can’t be here
With me…

I was there when you started school
You were scared but tried to be cool
I was there for your first job
Washing dishes and using a mop
I was there when you went to prom
I was so proud and so was your mom

Are you ready for life?
Have you learned enough?
Can you cope with strife?
Have I made you tough?
Will you make it through?
Are you all you can be?
I wonder what you’ll do
Because you can’t be here
With me…

I was there when you graduated early
Then you left home and joined the army
I was there when you and he wed
How fast down that road you sped
I was there when your son was born
Then I knew that my job was done

Are you ready for life?
Have you learned enough?
Can you cope with strife?
Have I made you tough?
Will you make it through?
Are you all you can be?
I wonder what you’ll do
Because you can’t be here
You are ready for life?
You have learned enough?
You can cope with strife?
I have made you tough?
You will make it through?
You are all you can be?
I know what you’ll do
When you can’t be here
With me…
