"Rocktastic world of Kudos"

... Kudos burst onto stage. They boast an enourmous sound that reverberates around the venue. Each song is as colorful as a forest in Autumn with space to wander inside and listen. From the Champagne Supernova of when Oasis truly rocked to the tortured wail of soon to be canonised Saint Kurt, the ernergies and wisdom obtained from those who have gone before merge delightfully in the rocktastic world of Kudos. - Sally Munroe - Hot-press

"Deadly buzz man..."

You ordered irresistible Sir? The opening track from Kudos is just that, slipping into your life as if it has every right to be there, and indeed it has. Its topped by excellently delicate vocals from Luke Barnett and classy fretwork from Tadhg Fallon. It oozes charm all over you before turning up the heat with a noisy guitar, and from then on it simply soars. A track with controlled dynamics and a natural rock sensibility, a gem that left me wanting more. Deadly buzz man! - Hot-press

"Kudos"

Kudos means glory and renown and this is where these guys bring you and what they should get. - Genevieve Carberry - Observer

Bio

At once subtle and thought provoking, Dublin based four-piece, Kudos,
combine ethereal melodic rock, with a lyrical and vocal intensity, the
like of which is simply not found among their contemporaries. Kudos
initially formed over 10 years ago, when the band's mainstays - Luke
Barnett [vocals/guitar] and Tadhg Fallon [guitars/vocals] - began writing and
recording together. Whilst combining their various influences and
styles, the Barnett/Fallon partnership proved fruitful, and culminated
in the development of a unique blend of guitar driven, hook-laden rock.
This is the sound for which Kudos have become known.

Throughout the years, the band had been highly active on Dublin's live
scene. Despite the various line-up changes which have inevitably taken
place, the band finalised their members' roster in October 2003 with the
addition of Ian Dorman [Drums] and Ciaran Kinsella [Bass]. After gaining
widespread respect on the local circuit, Kudos decided to regroup, and
following a prolonged period ensconced in Temple Lane Studios honing
both their live sound and writing new material, they have created a
sound that whilst forceful, possesses the kind of popular accessibility
rarely found in the often uncompromising sound of young bands. The band
recently re-emerged on the scene with a number of blistering live
performances in Whelan's, The Temple Bar Music Centre, Radiocity, Eamonn Doran's
and Voodoo Lounge to name but a few.

Such has been the reaction of their audience to their new set of
original songs, the band decided it was time to venture into the
recording studio. In the summer of 2005 kudos released their 3 track
debut single entitled "Born This Century", which received both local and
national airplay on radio stations such as 2FM, Today FM, Spin FM, Anna
Livia FM, Sydney's 2GLF and South Africa's East Coast Radio. The single
also received very favourable commentary in national publications such
as Hot Press, The Irish Times (The Ticket) and Hold It Down.

Kudos then toured the UK(Manchester, Oxford, London, Birmingham) with The Dublin Fringe Festival the following November to an incredibly warm welcome from initially unfamiliar audiences.

Currently, Kudos are putting the finishing touches on their debut album
"Press Play On Tape", due to be released independently this summer, and
have been consistently generating more and more airplay on college,
local and national radio stations. With plans now well under way to
return play a number of dates in London before the end of the summer and
having received substantial label interest from various UK based record
companies at the Midem Music Festival (Cannes) in January, the future
promises great things for this band. Keep your eyes and ears open,
you'll be seeing and hearing a lot more from Kudos in the very near
future.
