"Andy Hawk, 106.5 The Buzz"

There is a reason Not Your Style has won every contest they enter. These guys simply rock and have fun while doing it. A Not Your Style show might be the most rocking fun you have this year. - Andy Hawk, Music Director, 106.5 The Buzz, Sacramento, CA

"Mark Gilmore, 98 Rock"

I have never seen a band take the stage and totally own the crowd like
Not Your Style. The band works in perfect, chaotic, unison and the music
just makes the crowd move. - Mark Gilmore, 98 Rock Local Licks, Sacramento, CA

"Not Your Style Just Might Be Your Style"

Sacramento pop-rock band Not Your Style's music is catchy - really catchy. Their songs are chock-full of memorable vocal melodies, killer guitar riffs and hooks so big you'd think these boys were headed deep-sea fishing. If you dig bands like New Found Glory and A Day to Remember, Not Your Style just may be your new favorite band. They've recently completed and released their second EP, 'It's Treason, Then', and have big plans for 2010. Submerge recently ran into lead singer Laith Kayyali at Powerhouse Pub in Folsom, where he mentioned a few things the band has brewing. Let's just say that if you're smart, you'll catch Not Your Style at one of their local shows before some music industry folk pick up on the marketability of one of Sacramento's catchiest rock bands. They'll be at Club Retro on March 12 and at Powerhouse Pub on March 17. After that they are heading back into the studio to work with Jay Trammel at Fat Cat, where they have recorded all of their material to date. You can currently download their 2009 EP, ...In the Conservatory with the Wrench on iTunes. - Submerge Magazine

Bio

Not Your Style began in early 2009. Vocalist Laith Kayyali and bassist Kylan Kegel, having previously played together in Sacramento-area bands, decided to venture out in search of something more.
After searching Craigslist for others sharing the drive and hunger to create energetic pop-rock music, they came across guitarist Chris Karriker. Next, they came upon young drummer Marc Moser, and when Marc brought in guitarist Dave Harris, NYS was complete.

Not Your Style hit the ground running.
After playing together for just six weeks, NYS wrote and recorded their debut EP "…in the Conservatory with the Wrench" with famed Sacramento producer/engineer Jack Trammell. NYS quickly made a name for themselves with their creative and energetic live shows.
This caught the attention of local radio stations, and within 4 months of being a band, NYS found themselves winners of a huge contest to open for the likes of Judas Priest, Whitesnake, Saliva, and Trapt. Despite the obvious stylistic differences between these hard rock heavyweights and NYS, the boys rocked the stage and wowed the huge crowd. 2009 was an amazing year for NYS.

2010 has turned into an even better year for Not Your Style. Having just released their second EP "It’s Treason Then" armed with huge goals and an amazing fan base, NYS is determined to spread their live shows and energetic Pop-Rock music beyond the Sacramento area.
Do yourself a favor, and check out NYS’ energetic shows and listen to the music that they hope will one day rule the world.
