From the wilderness of a raw rock soul, Noush's uncompromising vocals & seductive gritty melodies, take you on a refreshing sojourn that rips you to the quick with a nod to the classic rock old-school greats and a deep voiced style that makes no apology.
The album, set for release in 2013, with the wisdom and mastery of Michael Beinhorn (Grammy Nominated Producer for the album ‘Celebrity Skin by ‘Hole’) at the helm, we’re steered through the grains of life, from when she first left London, to LA, with a definite stop at Nashville along the journey.
From winning the 2007 Alternative Pop Artist of the year at The LA Music Awards, and also The National EP of The Year, in that same year, at The Hollywood FAME Awards, to her 2008 ASCAP award and other accolades, it was clear that the US was taking note.
On her return to the UK, she proved a force here also; features on the BBC, in NME & attaining the #1 independent artist on Twitter position with over one million followers, Kerrang! Radio quickly followed suit. Whilst at home, Noush soaked up the music scene, stretching her wings and working with proven greats like Nik Kershaw and Paul Brady (Bonnie Raitt, Tina Turner); taking trips to the States working with Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow’s collaborator on Grammy nominated ‘Soak Up The Sun’), being invited to play at Twitter headquarters in San Fransisco & performing at SXSW 2010 - the industry’s annual music festival in Austin, Texas where the stars of tomorrow are discovered.
Meanwhile, her songs were featured on TV shows such as One Tree Hill, MTV’s The City, a national US commercial and the soundtrack to Paramount’s movie, Road-Trip. Unsurprising then that, Gibson endorsed her and had her perform an exclusive session for Gibson.com in London in 2010, the same year that she became the only non-label musician to make Beatweek’s 2010 Hot and Rising list.
Having gathered momentum in the UK, Noush returned to LA and hit the studio with Michael, with the help of incredible musicians Stanton Adcock and Jon Radford from Nashville. Together, they made sense of the journey, in the entrancing sound of Noush Skaugen’s forthcoming album ‘Buried In Vegas'.
