Bio

Witness the deep look of contemplation on the face of this street bred Dominican poet, or better yet, listen to just one verse from his lips and you to will be convinced, the future is bright for Noxid.

Noxid is the moniker of Dixon Ovalles, a young Dominican street bred lyricist hailing from the uncharted territory of Manhattan known as Washington Heights who describes his style as “unique, versatile, and demanding.” And he stresses the demanding part.

Noxid knows nothing comes easy. He knows that there are no assurances in the music game, that having a hit record is momentary, and that there are plenty people to watch out for. Noxid knows this and he is prepared. And he takes no shorts.

In person, he displays an unpretentious air of poise and calm yet, only one quarter through life, he is already a fine tuned lyrical architect with years of groundwork behind him. He is new to the scene but not to the game.

Being the younger brother of a Grammy nominated, Top 10 Billboard, Platinum Selling Artist, has not paved his way in the industry either. Noxid’s lyrical capabilities deplete of gimmicks, is solid, developed after years of filling notebooks with verses, refined by years of building his lyrical dexterity at block parties, and battling on the corners. He is just as comfortable ripping it over the dance floor grinders and the party anthems, as he is the hardcore styles he has learned on the streets. His transitions from English to Spanish lyrics are so seamless; those who don’t speak Spanish won’t have time to rip their attention off his flow. On freestyle, Noxid is downright wicked.

“I never stop writing,” says Noxid. “I’ve been studying the art for 15 years, from battling on headphones, sitting on crates in the cold and rhyming in the park, to shutting down clubs and performing in front of an audience of thousands, I’ve done it all.” Not quite all actually, all Noxid has left to do is blow-up, and that is up next.
