Bio
NP Avenue was the brainchild of music producer Aaron Thuen. Formed in 2009, the band (which consisted of a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and female vocalist) made an impression on the local music scene by winning the Concordia Battle of the Bands contest in 2010 and opening for OK Go in concert in 2011. However, many of the original members left the area soon after to explore other life interests and Thuen found himself back at square one. A two-time winner of the prestigious "DJ Of The Year" award, Thuen began challenging himself musically by exploring electronic sounds. During this exploration, he came across Tyler, whose uniquely energetic style as an emcee had caused him to raise a few eyebrows across the state. From this musical collaboration, the new NP Avenue was born. The band's sound is heavily influenced by Dubstep producers such as Skrillex and Knife Party, as well as pop punk bands such as Breathe Carolina and A Day to Remember, and even rap artists such as Lil Wayne and Macklemore. The high energy of the music and the band is contagious, leaving most fans sweaty by the end of the set.
Tyler and Aaron are also experienced event DJs. Gigs can include live music and DJ service before/after show.
