"Nsanity looks to change the face of Ohio Hip-Hop - interview"

AW: What it Dew Fam?
Nsanity: Just 24hr. grindin. Trying to make things pop off right.

AW: So you guys from Dayton Ohio. What kinda sound can we expect from Dayton?
Nsanity: Dayton is pretty much uncharted territory. But since we kind of close to everything you get a mixed
of everything. We in the Midwest and you already know how diverse the music is here. You got Twista to
Common, Kayne to Ray Cash, Czar Nok, to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Dayton music is hard to classify but it's
real music, something you can really feel. I just want Dayton to get it's proper shine. We been putting in alot
of work but haven't really received the proper recognition yet, but our time will come. All I can say is we
bring something for everybody no matter what you like you'll get it in the DYT.

AW: Whats the history behind the name?
Nsanity: My name Nsanity came from me doing crazy off the wall stuff. I was reckless. I even had some
doctors who thought I was off (laughs). Now TOTL Entertainment actually stands for Top Of Tha Line
Entertainment but we had to break it down to TOTL.

AW: Speak on you current project?
Nsanity: Right now we grinding on these mixtapes pretty hard. We got a mixtape coming out with Dj G-Spot
called "Gotta Get Mine Vol.1" it's the TOTL fam. We trying to build an empire like G-Unit. Also I'm working
on a mixtape with me and Mick Boogie Called "Thiz iz Only Tha Beginning"

AW: As an artist how are you approaching the music game from a business level?
Nsanity: Well to be honest I had to learn things the hard way. I done did the meeting with label execs
thing, trying to get a record deal off a hot demo and that's a waste of time. It's like even if they love
your music and want to sign you they'll throw you some slave contract that even if the album/albums are
successful you can still end up broke. But I still got some key people in my corner like Hustle Fam, and
my boy Yung Gunn who can make things happen. So I realized to get what I want I gotta grind hard. So
me and my Boy T-Nova made this TOTL Entertainment thing happen. The buzz has to be right and we
building a strong one. So you will be seeing TOTL all over the net, all over your favorite dj's mixtape's,
and in your city doing shows. We don't sleep.

AW: What would you say separates you from the next artist out right now?
Nsanity: I've learned this business very well. So I'm not just jumping in thinking make a hot single and
you the next 50cents. We know things take time. Timing is just as important as the music, and the buzz.
When I write a song I write from what I been through or what's currently going on in my life. So it's all
me. But, I say by this time next year Dayton should be making some major moves taking the game by
storm.

AW: How would you describe your style/sound?
Nsanity: It's hard to put a finger on it, because it's not one dimensional. If you like music with a
very versatile flavor then this is for you. Each track we do sounds very different. We work with a
slew of producer so nothing has the same sound. I constantly re-invent myself like Busta Rhymes.
TOTL got them trunk rattling dirty south beats, and we got them Midwest club bangers. We even
hitting them with the radio singles to take over the airwaves. Shout out to my boy Ekko he came
through with some nice tracks, he's a beast on the production.

AW: How do you feel about the southern movement and how do you see the midwest
movement pop'in off?
Nsanity: The southern movement is good for hip hop. First off it shows us if we put everything aside
and work together big things can happen. I love dirty south music. I don't see the southern
movement going anywhere believe me it's here to stay. Now, as far as the Midwest goes. The
Midwest has done some big things but it's never been a movement like the south with all the unity.
We have had some big sellers like Kanye, Twista, Bone, Eminem, Chingy, Murphy Lee, D12, and
J Kwon. But if we can come together and unify especially with all the crazy talent coming up now like
Bump J, Ray Cash, Czar Nok, Grind Family, Lupe and Sani G then we'll have a nice movement. Look
at it this way, East had it locked, West had it locked, now the south has it locked, we can't let them
skip over us we have to get it popping. The Midwest is next!!!!

AW: What about mixtapes, we see you're gonna be working with DJ G Spot. What's
good with that?
Nsanity: G-Spot's my man, and he knows his mixtapes. He won Midwest Mixtape Dj of the year a
few years back, so he ain't a new jack. I got at him and Mick Boogie about doing some things
together and they have worked out well. They do it big on the mixtapes here man. So be looking for
that "Gotta Get Mine Vol.1" with Dj G-Spot, it's all heat. So be looking for that late May. You can
check us out at www.totl.biz

AW: Awready! So what ís your quest for 2006?
Nsanity: To kill this mixtape game and get out hit the road doing show and promote non-stop.
Make sure you can't go no where without hearing about Nsanity, and TOTL Ent. Also I plan on
dropping my full length album at the end of the year with some crazy features on it. Also don't let
me forget to shout out the whole DYT movement, Dayton let's get it!!! Shout out to everybody
doing it big in Ohio we gotta get together and make this happen.

Bio

Ask Dayton, Ohio native Nsanity his career plan and the versatile will let you know the deal. "I'm in the game to add a new element to music. I think every artist should be trying to think outside the box. I'm here to make change and set myself apart in the process.
One listen to his bumpin' and bass blasted mixtape “I Gotta Get Mine” and it's pretty apparent that this artist has not only set a goal but also nailed it. Of course what else would you expect from this Ohio rapper with enough fire power to be the next big thing out of the Midwest? Since he first exploded onto the scene Nsanity has emerged slowly but surely and has learned alot about the business through his dealings with lawyers to his relationship with industry vets. He inspires to make his label TOTL Entertainment a household name. Nsanity has been grinding on his music for years to perfect his craft and find his niche. On I Gotta Get Mine, Nsanity is taking no shorts and pulling no punches, lacing us with pure heat song after song. This is the first major taste of what Nsanity is bringing to the table. Nsanity easily unleashes a volley of verbiage, delivered with his unmistakably nimble tongued flow. If folks needed any further proof as to Nsanity's gift, then pay attention because his songs shut down any and all lingering doubts.

" I think that with every album you have to give people a piece of you, something that they don't know about; whether it's personal or maybe a sound or idea they haven't heard before. That's something I set out to do every time. On all my songs/albums I talk about everything. I get personal, about my emotions, money situations, my life. I've got metaphoric songs, club songs, songs for the women, party songs, songs about my experience traveling: just living my life. I really think it’s my time because it's what I've always wanted to do."

Chief on the to do list for Nsanity is expanding his fan base by having the creative courage to reach out to potential new audiences. To establish a style yet not get stuck in a formulaic rut. From the jump Nsanity has shown himself to be flexible and able to hold it down with the grimiest of rappers. “I think one of the things that keeps me fresh and keeps the public interested in me is my versatility. I feel that I'm able to bring something different each time."
Label executive. Rapper. Actor. Born Star. Nsanity brings his unique persona and approach to everything he does and in the process he expands to an even wider fan base. With TOTL Entertainments Nsanity gears up to do battle. Armed with, wildness, lyrical dexterity, heart, and a sense of who he is and what he can be. Ask Nsanity his philosophy and he breaks it down. "l always tell people that longevity is the most important thing to me. I'm always looking forward. I know that when it comes to hip hop I'm one of the chosen few and I'm very happy with what success and recognition I receive but as far as where I'm going I have no limitations even though I know this is only the beginning.
