Simply put the Nu-Clear Energy band is a Rock Reggae, ska, punk band based in Brooklyn.

The front man and lyricist, Dreadlock Tony Dunner aka Tony D is originally from Barbados.

John Pergamo, the guitarist/songwriter is his right hand man and was born in Brooklyn hospital and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in music composition from CUNY college. AKA JP studied under reknown classical guitarist, Jorge Morel.

Bass player, Lenny Steele Dread is best known as one of the founding members of "Pure Hell", the first black punk rock band managed by Curtis Knight. Lenny has toured extensively with some of reggae’s greatest artist. Just to mention a few, the list includes Eekamouse, Conscious Souls, and Big Mountain. Lenny Dread has also recorded and toured with HR of the Bad Brains.

The final link in the chain to enhance the perfect combination of talent was JP's brother, Anthony "ACE in the Hole" Pergamo who was born March 23 1957. Everything was happening for the 'Nu-Clear Energy Band, and for the Pergamos when a car accident took Ace's life, and left JP badly injured. It took five years for John to fully recuperate and the Nu-Clear Energy Band languished.

On the positive side, Drummer Derek Reese, a Prodigy of Ace Pergamo studied drums under Pergamo at the ripe age of 3 years old. An amazing musician in his own right, Derek is also a talented guitarist and song writer.

“Ground Zero” their first album, dedicated to world peace and nuclear disarmament, is acclaimed a Top Album Pick by Billboard Magazine.
The song, “Money” is licenced for the documentary, “America Against Blacks” and shown on PBS.
“African Herbman” with its slick arrangement won the Global Marijuanna Music Awards for the best Reggae song and has topped the charts on Commercial, Public and College radio stations as high as #1.

Nuclear Energy has performed at various clubs ranging from CBGB’s on the Bowery to Kenny’s Castaway on Bleeker St. to the Reggae Lounge in NYC. The band has particpated in the NYC Parks Programs and has dazzled the college scene with their smooth cool sound.

So with serious perseverance and back on the NYC scene, the Nu-Clear Energy Band marches forward to a beat of their own with a timeless unique sound to capture the planet in a peaceful way.
