BandEDMPop

Nuclear Weasel is lush electronic pop music that moves you inside and out. This girl likes to make you laugh, cry and dance all at the same time, with beautiful, icy lyrics that send chills up your spine and make you sweat even if you're not dancing.

Biography

Nuclear Weasel is music with a rockin' electro beat and beautiful, icy lyrics, with an early 80's no wave dance vibe, reminiscent of ESG, Liquid Liquid, Depeche Mode and New Order. The sole member of this music project is Elisa Rose, who has spent 12 years making noise in Vancouver and now cranks out the beats from a small cabin in an even smaller town in the British Columbia interior.
From busking with her acoustic guitar on the streets of Ottawa at the age of 14, to completing a recording engineer program in Vancouver 13 years later, Elisa has had over 17 years to work on a sound that properly conveys her desire to make people laugh, cry and dance, all in the space of a song.
She has been active in the music scene in various ways, such as 10 years producing A Broken Record, a weekly radio program on Vancouver's Co-op Radio, DJing at parties, art openings and other events, playing in the rock band Ackley Kid as singer / songwriter and guitar player and engineering, producing and remixing music for herself and others, including Amy Honey, Cadaver Dogs and Orphan.
A Nuclear Weasel live performance includes guitar, laptop and sequencer beat box, as well as dynamite dance moves and lyrical delivery that'll give you chills up your spine and make you sweat whether or not you are dancing. The music of Nuclear Weasel is smart, funny, sweet and sad all at the same time. Her lyrics will sting your heart and make you wish you thought of them first.

Lyrics

Colombia, Revisited

Written By: Elisa Rose Shaw

I know the most adventurous men
... luxurious cruise
... seductive women
... advantageous move
I know the most
... important decisions
... impressionable people
... unhappy times
... careless whispers
I know the most
... irrelevent comments
... fixated thoughts
... hurtful words
.... vulnerable spots

The Colombian

Written By: Elisa Rose Shaw

Coffee on the table and the meter stick in hand, separating the good from the bad, what doesn't measure up and the room gets clean, how many pairs of bluejeans do you need?
There are books on the table and the ones that have been read, are high up on the shelf for reference, black is the color of the mask you wear, when you're trying to pretend that you're not there or anywhere.
But hey what do I know about anything or anything else for that matter?
I know the most adventurous men and this is the most luxurious cruise, I know the most seductive women and this is the most advantageous move,
I make the most important decisions and I know the most impressionable people,
I've had the most unhappy times and I've heard the most careless whispers,
I've made the most irrelevant comments and I've had the most fixated thoughts,
I know the most hurtful words and I know the most vulverable spots.
Hey what do I know about anything or anything else, hey what do I know about anything else?
Coffee on the table and coffee on the floor, what doesn't measure up anymore,
Coffee on the table and coffee on the floor, what doesn't measure up anymore, coffee on the floor, coffee on the floor.
