Bio

NU DNA is the transformation of thoughts and behavior
and, ultimately,
the reconstruction of a person's total life.

Gospel/Urban trio NU DNA (pronounced New DNA) unites three of the most talented male vocal artists in the Midwest. Marc Frye, the "Silvathroat." Larry Frye, the vocal track star. Kelvin Moore, the passionate unifier.

While the three possess uniquely distinctive voices, they unite in tight harmonies and seamlessly trade lead vocals. NU DNA’s stunning vocals combine with inspiring songwriting and a magnetic stage presence to create a true musical trinity.

Together they have produced two projects, a maxi single and their debut release Cover Story. Prior to the death of Gospel recording artist Ronald Winans, NU DNA recorded “He Never Fails” on Ronald Winans Family and Friends 5, available in stores nationwide.

When the trio met, brothers Larry and Marc were singing in a group called Choice, performing regionally with such artists as John P. Kee and Outkast.

Meanwhile, Kelvin was a member of the group Zion, touring nationally in support of their Intersound Records album. He has performed with such artists as Commissioned, Vickie Winans, Ben Tankard, Yolanda Adams, DC Talk, AVB, The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, Rance Allen, Witness, Donnie McClurkin, Smokie Norful and James Hall.

Fate brought the three men together at a concert in Michigan. As the artists shared their ideas and songs with each other they soon realized that they possessed the same musical DNA, inspiring their musical direction and the unique name of their group.

How do they define NU DNA? ‘NU’ is by far the more important element. It represents true change. ‘DNA’ is literally the abbreviation for the words Deoxyribonucleic Acid. This represents the group’s faith in the rebirth process and an adjustment to their biological strand of life…transforming their “old man” into a born-again creation.

With each project, NU DNA is taking steps forward, refining their musical DNA and creating a brand that is igniting the gospel community.
