The Nu Family Band is a part of the Nu Revolution to create & promote music to "Help Make a Better Day for the Children". While growing up in Chicago, sisters Guitar Sallye & Tamah, help to start The Robert Taylor Youth Foundation. They open up a School of Music, which took the kids off the streets from gangbanging & taught them how to play musical instruments. That is when Guitar Sallye & Tamah first picked up the guitar&bass, and begin to create their sound " Soul da Pop/Funk".
The sisters then formed the posse "Nu Family" which consist of family members, friends, and kids on some venues. Meanwhile Bootsie Collins urged Guitar Sallye & Tamah to take the band to Europe.
because the music scene for urban bands had change to the Bling Bling. Record companies did't want to promote a urban band, especially a band who dare to step outside the Bling Bling box. There was(and still is) very little work for live urban bands.They either have broken up, or are struggling to survive, or having to pay to play.
As Guitar Sallye & Tamah took their act over seas, they were (and still are) well recieved, with open arms by the European community. They formed their Record Label "Soul da Pop Musik", which enabled them to sell CD's and tour the World!!!! This was a strong support that kept the girls standing tall for many years. The Nu Family Band's Performance is a hard act to follow. The girls have a tight show, that can compete with any group in the industry!! They can headline or open up for a major act.
