JC Cannegieter started playing music at 13 but it wasn’t until 3 years ago that he began to start producing beats for local artists in San Diego. Six months ago, he decided to start singing, writing and producing his own songs and has built up a following that would seem improbable given the short amount of time thanks to his good looks, great songs, and internet marketing savvy.
In the month of January alone, his website registered over one million unique hits and has almost four hundred thousand unique hits through the first 7 days of February. His 4 song EP is currently being sold through Track Star studios in San Diego with sales of a thousand units so far. Cannegieter has had numerous offers for his songs by artists including Willa Ford and Rich Cronan, as well as his services by Lou Pearlman for the next “big boy band”. In each case, they were not career directions that Cannegieter sees himself going in. He does not want to be known for writing other people’s songs and would like to have full control of his own destiny, so he politely declined most of these offers.
While over a million fans love his songs, Big Fish Audio loves his beats. Cannegieter has done four loop cd’s for Big Fish, two of which are done and awaiting shipping, while the others are near completion. Cannegieter’s skills of singing, writing, producing, as well as his proficiency on the guitar and piano make this newcomer a quadruple threat, sure to turn many more heads in the near future.
