Number One Rival! is a Chicago based Power-Pop band that formed around January of 2009. Their sound was formed from a mutual love for Pop-Punk and Power-Pop acts that deliver melody with a very full back. Some of their influences include New Found Glory, Less Than Jake, Hit the Lights, Bouncing Souls, and Rufio.
The four founding members Mark Segawa (guitar/vocals), John Kalas (bass), Conor O’Donnell (drums) and Ryan Linich (guitar) started writing music hoping to bring smiles to the faces of everyone they perform for. With each person bringing a different musical background to the table, the final product is a powerful and melodic creation that will have people rocking out and dancing the night away.
The group wanted to make music they loved and music they could share with anyone. Mark being a music composition major had numerous songs and ideas jotted down. So the band started working with the lot of material that Mark had to help create some of the first songs of the bands set.
The guys from Number One Rival! want nothing more than to see people having a great time and enjoying the music that they pour their hearts into. It is this passion and fortitude that will help this band leave a lasting impression to everyone who listened.
