Love is in the air this month, and what better way to show it than with a benefit concert? The Red Cross’s third annual Beats Not Bullets show, unfolding over February 12 and 13 at Broken City, will feature such acts as The Neckers, Axis of Conversation, Nushi, Beija Flor, Reuben Bolluck, Fox Opera, The Grim Beat, Ghostkeeper, Hunter Gatherer and Edmonton’s Michael Rault. - FFWD Weekly - Dave Swanson

Bio

Nushi is the Japanese word for "Gold, Lover, Owner, Master". It's also the name of an atmospheric/experimental indie pop music project in Calgary, comprising of individuals who have all been involved in various other musical projects within the Calgary music scene over the past 4 years. These other bands include "The Hours", "Friendo", "Beija Flor" and "Harrison Ford".

Listening to Nushi's music might lead one to think of other acts like "American Football", "Wintersleep", "Pelican" and "Sparta".

Nushi has received airplay on X92.9 FM as part of its Xposure program throughout the year of 2008, with a track called "Bleeding Pop Melodies" from its EP "We Live In Suburbs".

The band has recently completed recording a full length album, named "Future Hazards" The release of this album is planned for May 2010. The entire album is currently being streamed on this EPK.
