Esta banda ha llegado a todas nuestras listas de los mejores sencillos del año. Su éxito recae en su habilidad musical y poder creativo. “Simpatía”, “Lacrimógeno” y “These days are over”, son joyas de producción. Temas muy bien armados desde principio a fin, guitarras bien balanceadas, ritmo, foco y un gran trabajo de ingenería de sonido que da el empujón final para dejarnos con esas ganas de volver a escuchar. Nutopía, nos hace recordar que para tener un grupo exitoso no se puede olvidar un gran detalle: escribir buenas canciones.

This band has been on all of our "best single" lists every year. Their success is due to their musical abilities and their creative power. "Simpatía", "Lacrimógeno" and "These Days are Over" are production jewels. Songs that are extremely well composed from beginning to end, balanced guitars, rhythm, focus and great sound engineering, give them a extra push to keep on listening. El cuarteto puertorriqueño Nutopia es la banda que hoy presentamos en nuestra sección Descubrir. Con base en la capital de su país, San Juan, Nutopia consiste de Francisco Santiago (voz y sintetizadores), Ricardo Santana (batería), Joshua Jonathan Bellve (guitarra principal) y Pedro J Gonzalez (bajo). Se formaron en 2012 y este año publicaron su disco debut, titulado homónimamente, que es el resultado de la búsqueda sónica de todos esos meses de trabajo: un indie pop-rock bastante arriba y colorido.

This Puerto Rican quartet, is the band we present in our discovery section. They are from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the band includes the participation of Francisco Santiago (vocals/synths), Ricardo Santana, (Drums), Joshua Jonathan Bellve (Lead Guitar) and PJ Gonzalez (bass). They formed in 2012 and they published their debut album this year, a self titled work from all of those months of recording: a colorful brand of upbeat indie pop-rock. - Indie Hoy (Argentina)

Tras varios años de ir agrupando material, el cuarteto de pop-rock Nutopia por fin lanzó su debut discográfico. La colección homónima incluye un puñado de temas listos para la radio como “Wired for Explosion” y “Alucinó”, pero ninguno tan inmediato y simpático como “Simpatía”, la grata sorpresa que abre el disco. En cualquier otra parte del planeta la canción –en constante propulsión, orgullosa de su melodía y estribillo– habría entrado en rotación en alguna estación de radio, por más local, pequeña y especializada. Aquí en Puerto Rico aún nos toca hacer juntos la avanzada.

Si bien no llegó el grupo a la cantidad de oídos merecidos, como mínimo, lograron con Nutopia una carta de presentación que les permitirá propulsarse a nuevas experiencias como músicos. Dentro de una escena en la que muchas veces se confunden la impermeabilidad y la crudeza por credibilidad, composiciones pulidas y arreglos populistas como los que traen Nutopía a la mesa son un respiro bienvenido.

After various years of grouping material, this pop rock quartet, finally released their debut album. Their song collection includes songs that are ready for radio play like "Wired for Explosion" and "Alucinó", but none as immediate and great as Simpatía, the album opener. In any other place on the planet, this song, with great melodies and delivery, would have been played everywhere. Proving that we still have a lot to go in terms of promoting local bands.

Even if this band has not been in the quantity of ears that it deserves to be in. With this album, Nutopia achieved a presentation that will help them achieve new experiences as musicians.
