"Indie International - Nyilah"

Describe your music and your sound?
I would say melodious R&B with uplifting and inspirational lyrics embellised with elements of spirituality and sensuality.

How is the music scene in the UK? How is it different from the States?
The UK at the moment is musically more geared towards pop and indie rock music. The market is a lot smaller than the US. We only have a small number of radio stations in comparison to the US and they rotate the same 10-20 sogns each hour.

What motivated you to write the song 'On The Other Side of the Sky'? Are you a big Tupac fan?
I was sitting at my piano trying to write a new song when I saw Tupac's face come up on my TV. I turned up the volume to hear what they were saying and I heard some guy say "he died as he lived by the gun". I was really saddened that people who didn't even know him could judge him so superficially and without even considering the circumstances of Tupac's life. I started to write lyrics and tinkering with the keys ... everything just flowed right out - definitely one of those moemnts when you tap into the Source. I was a great admirer of his music and that was before I even discovered his poetry. that song changed my life and opened up doors and I have Tupac to thank for that.

What are you looking to accomplish in the music industry?
To release my albums worldwide: to tour worldwide and to reach as many people as I can with my music.

If you could work with 1 artist/producer who would it be and why?
At the moment I'd really love to work with Kanye West, I think he's a great lyricist, rapper and producer.

Tell me about the upcoming album?
I've co-written most of album with Femi Ojetunde, an extremely talented writer/producer/musician based in the US and I feel we definitely have a kind of magic when we write together. Overall its an album filled with great songs, great grooves, all from the heart encompassing all elements of life, spirituality, love, empowerment, joy, sorrow.

Any last words?
I'd just like to say that we are all one whether we know it or not, whether we like it or not. That no matter what religious pasth you walk or don't walk it doesn't change the fact that we are all connected and whatever we do to another we do to ourselves. Peace.

"****2pac 4 ever - the title says it all"

2pac 4 ever is one of the best 2pac dvds out. .... Contains live concert footage of 2pac on stage at 'The House of Blues'. Something we don't often see. ….Right at the end of the documentary, you'll have a real deep feeling when the very last song 'On the other side of the sky' is played and there is footage simultaneously playing of 'Pac rhyming from a piece of paper. You have to watch it to know what I'm talking about.
