Biography

NYMPHOMATICS is a three-piece rock band from N.J. They combine hard-rock style and punk attitude with pop sensibilities. They believe the primal elements of sex and lust are an essential part of the history and sound of rock music. Their stripped-down sound and straight forward approach is similar to bands like Nirvana, Urge Overkill, Stone Temple Pilots, and The Pixies. The band includes Bern Blackburn (vocals, guitar), Andy Sapko (drums), and new member, Tom Murphy (bass, backing vocals). After forming in December 2008, they began playing regularly in New Brunswick, N.J. With a stage performance featuring dancing girls and raw energy, they were soon demanding attention. At the end of 2009, NYMPHOMATICS released their debut EP The Treatment. The response has been strong. "The Treatment oozes catchy, radio-friendly tracks," wrote Jason Stives, music editor for Inside Beat, an entertainment magazine supplement of Rutgers college newspaper, The Daily Targum. He added, "NYMPHOMATICS breathe youthful energy into their mix of rock and pop." The band was also played and interviewed on WRSU 88.7 FM's Overnight Sensations radio program. The EP is available on www.CDbaby.com and www.itunes.com. The band plans to continue getting The Treatment radio play locally and on college stations. They also plan on touring in support of the EP.
