"O-Ren Releases EP 'You Should Know'"

This group of Texans nothing cowboy stereotype, Stetson and rodeo. Based in Dallas, O-Ren cultivated in his musical fields psychedelic, nostalgic rock and roll and pop songs with enchanting accents. But hard to mistake the joint imprint of Tame Impala , The Doors and Pink Floyd seems to mark this quartet rock indie determined to put on the front of the stage music for LSD aficionados.

Geek retro synth and summer musical theme ( "You Should Know" ), iconic sixties guitar, rhythm deaf, quiet voice in the background ( "BFF" ) and edgy melodies abrupt background ( "Wanted" ), O- Ren simply cut to the quick and stay sober but with a healthy subtlety. Not until the complete work begun by this EP, the announced Soundtrack To Escape (to be published at Wild Kingdom) to fly us to other lands. - My Band News

Bio

Austin X. Myles founded O-Ren in the summer of 2014 after sitting a somewhat musical purgatory, not knowing his next move after relocating from Tyler, TX to Denton, TX.  The project was planned to be a partnership between Myles, and another Denton native.  Due to conflicting schedules the two couldn't make time for a new project.  With Myles already having songs ready to be recorded, he decided to finish them and listen to the outcome.  By the end of the summer Myles had locked in the original sound for his project and chose the name O-Ren.  O-Ren is taken from main Kill Bill antagonist O-Ren Ishii due to Myles' love for the film and O-Rens theme to tell a story through out every release.  In October 2014 O-Ren released its first 5 song EP, 'Turn Me On' to positive reviews on its minor similarities that remind listeners of bands like Tame Impala and Unknown Mortal Orchestra but its overall originality that sets it aside in its own genre.  After the release of 'Turn Me On' Myles relocated back to Tyler to write and record with previous band mates, Anthony Sanchez, Rodrigo Gomez, and Jon Feil to finish their first full length album.  In May of 2015 the band announced the release of their first full length album to come towards the end of the summer with the first single 'You Should Know'.  With reviewers, listeners, and new fans anticipating O-Ren's next big move.
