Fake Pockets

Written By: Kyall Hagemeyer

Fake pockets

The haze that covers a familiar sight
Another day you stumble outside
Familiar shapes formed in your mind
All the sounds that tend to hide
The fish are there I can hear their side
As the sun is warming this fascine
Hours lost without my eyes
Reliant on instinct to pass the time
As the grey starts to disappear
Slowly revealing life’s splendor
A reassurance of what I knew
There is more to love then what’s in view
Trying to find the answers
To questions that were never asked
From feelings always passing by
Like a stranger on the other side
You’ve never seen but still you hide
From a certain beam that never lies
Why – Try – What
Who – No – cry
In the shower you scrub away
That which you found in a day
Of working for another paycheck
Focused on a side that isn’t intact
The customer is always right
Trying to please with a smile in spite
You don’t really believe in all the right
Hopelessly trying to infuse your side
Out of the shower you step another light
Dawn the dress of your pride
Yet there is nowhere you need to go
As long as you leave the halls of this home
Is this all just a dream?
Am I really here and listening?
The truth of a man reciting lines
News briefs from another city
The hunger in a stranger’s eye
The bias that never really dies
Why – shi – Lie
Where – care – cry
Back in your bed you shut your eyes
The day’s events unfold in your mind
A lost child in the sea of life
Another start after a few hours time
Why – try – Why
Who – no – cry

Spring Cold

Written By: Kyall Hagemeyer

Spring Cold

The clouds part far above
The rain it dries up
My heart is turned to mush
And I love everyone
Just when you call me a liar
At the point I’m not living for you
The depths of this fire
It seems I can’t find the truth
The birds sing for me
The grass grows so green
Everything is put in its place
I love the look on your face
A thunderbolt cracks through the blue sky
Without care the baby bird dies
The beauty which I find in my mind
Is destroyed in the blink of an eye
I don’t know, I don’t care, Hate it seems is everywhere
I will live and I will die, I’m so glad that we’re alive
The wind dances over the waves
Beneath which the fishes play
I wish I were on a beach
To sing you a song so sweet
But then the love turns to hate
Using words to stab with haste
Nothing sacred & nothing safe
How did it all end this way?
The growth and birth of the spring
It seems enough to set me free
Everything moves and plays
I don’t care if you call me gay
I won’t let you hurt anything
I just won’t let you get me down
The depths which I’ve sank before
No not this time, no not now
I don’t know I don’t care, Hate it seems is everywhere
I will live and I will die, I’m so glad that we’re alive
The clouds they part far above
The rain it dries up
My heart is turned to mush
And I love everyone

I love everyone
