Born and raised in Lansing MI, adopted after being a victim of drugs and abandoned by his parents at a very young age, overcame adversity and focused his energy to writing music and staying away from the street life which is very easy to get caught up in. Diamond Jones, (AKA D.Jones) became a well-known rapper and earned his respect from his hard work and sacrifice. Diamond now commonly recognized as an up and coming star in his community. He began at the age of 13, and began putting together lyrics and songs. His first mixtape was released in 2011 from a group of friends formed by family and friends known as Skyline. Since then the group has restructured and Diamond as a solo artist created a mixtape named “3-14-14” which is also his birthday really gained the attention of many of his peers and fans to this date. D.Jones who is currently working on his 4th solo project, “Still Not Famous?” that will be released on March 14, 2015 along with dropping an EP on this same date called “Loud Thoughts” hopes that this will be his chance to be heard and receive his chance at greatness. Two tapes? In one day? People asked Mr. Jones, “Why put out so much work in one day?” He responded by saying that he feels like “It’s time to give the people more than just a little bit.” He wants his fans to be able to have large amount of music to select from and provide the motivation to help someone make it through another day”.

           His inspiration stems from a “golden era” of music when there seemed to be much more substance and originality. He plans on bringing these qualities back to the forefront in his own way. Diamond recalls paying close attention to the rise growth of a few of his favorite artists such as, Dolla, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, and Drake. Fans often tell D.Jones that his in your face presence, and clever cadences throughout his music, remind them of new school rappers such as, J.Cole, Drake, and Big Krit. Diamond Jones is truly a star of his generation and recently was the 96.5 spotlight artist of the month in his hometown of Lansing Michigan and plans to make an impact that will shock the world!!!
