"Oceans of Mars, April 15, Boise Hempfest"

When Eric Bruckbauer played Boise a few years ago, it was with his band Warning: Danger!, a four-piece punk outfit from the Pacific Northwest that played songs about safety. No, really. It was part novelty, all party. Bruckbauer returns to town on Tax Day with his other band, Oceans of Mars, another party-punk four-piece from the Portland-Seattle area.

"The focus is still on having a good time," Bruckbauer said, and, to that end, outrageous props and crazy costumes are an essential element of an OOM show—but so is talent.

Band members Bruckbauer, Ian Etheridge, Seth Jackson and Marcus Saxon are "veterans of the Northwest music scene" and no matter how "goofy and nasty" OOM songs are—"themes range from a love of nachos and beer to a birthday party for Satan"—they are well-crafted, danceable and addictive.

OOM joins a lineup of talented acts and speakers Saturday, April 15 at the annual Boise Hempfest for a day of entertainment and cannabis education. Just remember: No smoking allowed. - Boise Weekly

By Robots, The Wimps, The Hollowpoints, Peelander-Z, Millhous, Neutralboy, M.O.T.O., 13 Scars, David Liebe Hart (from the Tim & Eric Show), The Valley, The Derelicts, The Ransom (with members of Poison Idea), Toe Tag (with members of The Accused), Metalachi, & Church of El Duce (with members of The Mentors).

Description:  Oceans of Mars brings together four hand-picked veterans of the Northwest music scene to make the most outrageous and entertaining punk band imaginable. The band is the brain-child of Seattle safety punk band guitarist, Eric Bruckbauer of Warning: Danger!

Oceans of Mars’ sound is noisy and raw, with an old-school punk feel; clever, humorous lyrics; and songs that easily get stuck in your head. Songs are written with the intention of being as goofy, nasty, and catchy as possible, and range in theme from a love of nachos and beer to a birthday party for Satan. Band members often wear ridiculous costumes for no reason and utilize stage props whenever possible. But don’t be fooled by the humor and light-hearted approach - this band cranks out well-crafted, hard-hitting, high-energy punk rock.

Performance:  Oceans of Mars makes every show a party and strives to leave everyone in attendance thoroughly entertained. Shows are lively, high-energy, and interactive. OoM utilizes stage props, costumes, and incorporates audience participation.

Promotion:  We promote all shows through various online portals as well as hard copy posters mailed to the venue and posted around town. We will attempt to arrange for local indie radio interviews and press leading up to the show.
