Oceans of Slumber

Labeling a band like Oceans of Slumber is not as easy as one would think. A band that holds in its ranks a versatile drummer of many bands (most notably grind purist Insect Warfare), a degreed jazz guitarist and an all-around cast of “musician’s musicians” makes for an interesting concoction of influences. Classifying their music is really of no concern to them. Instead, they create waves upon waves of atmosphere and use their talents to exploit the dynamics of music usually lost in most bands. This creates an undeniably epic wall of sound that is the trademark of Oceans of Slumber. With every intention of crossing every musical boundary, Ocean of Slumber creates an immense atmosphere of beauty and extremity with its very capable lineup of musicians. Old-school metal mixed with prog and psychedelia brought right off to date with cutting death metal and black metal influences
