"Regen Mag"

Needless to say, the audience was slightly taken aback on both nights, although the Baltimore crowd was (strangely) less receptive than Falls Church to such a brazen and rather ballsy effort; granted, a solo hip-hop artist was hardly what anybody might have expected, but Ocelot gave it his all, sweat pouring from his brow as he moved with the sleek mania of his namesake, a smile never escaping his face. - Ilker Yücel

"Kmfdm: Persist and Move On!"

And then there’s Ocelot, and I think it was a surprise to some people that KMFDM had a solo rap/hip-hop artist opening. You also did a remix of his track ‘Target Practize.’ How did he come to be part of the KMFDM family? Any chance of him contributing to a KMFDM track? - Ilker Yücel

Still working on that hot first release.

Ocelot, an American hip hop artist, born in Germany, got his introduction to hip hop in 1985 while learning to breakdancing, beat box and rapping along to songs by the Fat Boys. That was the beginning of his interest in music. He began listening to Das Efx, Fuschnickens, Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys and more. As well as influence from such artists as Frank Zappa, early Red HotChili Peppers, Dead Milkmen and an entire range of funk and punk rock music.Punk rock and hip-hop are one in the same in his eyes as far as culture goes and how the two came up together with some of the same people in the NYCarea in the late 70's early 80's.He started writing rhymes in 1995 with a few friends from high school in Michigan. In 2003 he recorded this first song then worked his way to start performing live in the Kalamazoo, Michigan hip-hop scene. After moving to Colorado in 2007, Ocelot began doing shows in ski towns throughout the Rockies. In 2010 he began managing Prime Element, a hip-hop group from Denver, and started touring with acts like Grieves, Dilated Peoples,People Under the Stairs, Souls of Mischief, Sweatshop Union, and more.Having an unreleased catalogue of music, including music made with Del the Funky Homosapien, Ras Kass and more, Ocelot is currently working on his debut album producedby Chuck G. Chuck has produced records for C Rayz Walz, Doap Nixon, Psalm One, Canibus, Grandmaster Caz, Wordsworth and more, and looking toto add this new project with Ocelot to the catalogue. Ocelot's style is strictly hardcore/boom bap hip-hop. He expresses his experiences in life, his knowledge of the craft and culture of hip-hop includingthe history of what we came from. His music is not political; he won't always be bediscussing police brutality, war, oils profits, or any other politically associated issues. He is not trying to change the world by writing songs about socialissues, but he may leave a reminder from time to time that humanity needs a reboot. He is an emcee, strictly here to rock mic, and move crowds!
