Biography

Ocobar is a Holland-based band, with bandmembers Cornell van Vuuren and brothers Rob and Bart Wijtman. Formed in 2004, the concept was to make music in various styles, glued together by their own characteristic sound. They've become well know with their appearances as a live band in Holland Sport.

The idea back then, and still their main drive, is to make music that's different. No albums that deliver guaranteed airplay, but albums with music as they see most interesting themselves: pure, well-played, with room for humor and a twist. Spot on, it seemed afterwards: the band gained a very good name and nationwide exposure via performances for a few years live in Holland Sport on TV, they toured with Freek de Jonge and got dozens of requests for music in commercials. Their music has been used for one European campaign, and in various spots in Italy, New Sealand and Australia.

During their CD presentation in June 2011 for their album 'Kamiki', they appeared on stage for the first time in 7 years 'solo'. In other words: not guiding another artist, or film, or instrumentalising a show. Both the audience and Ocobar loved what happened: a great evening where people came and viewed and appreciated them, and only them. So while the show is ready, they're now working on a way to get a good series of shows going for 2012.
