Bio

What do you get when you cross five college students with a passion for straight-up rock and roll? One of the hottest bands on the current Cincinnati scene, Oddfellows Temple.

OT was formed several years ago by close friends Steve Collins and Ryan Steadman (two singer/guitarists), with bassist Sam Segrist and Craig DeToto on drums. They soon became favorites in the Ohio college-party circuit, and regulars at Cincinnati venues including The Mad Frog, Top Cats, The Cavern, and The Madison Theater. Winning fans at shows alongside other cincy rockers July For Kings (MCA Records), Buckra, Corbit, Bosley, and more, their efforts have been awarded with a huge group of young, attractive, beer-guzzling fans, and a victory in the 2002 Mad Frog Battle of the Bands.

"He went off to college to get away...He was the big man on campus, and everyone knew...But along with his prestige, came enemies..." Those lyrics are from "Blinded", a song about the social change and adaptation that comes with going away to school. While calling OT a "college band" is certainly no stretch of the imagination, their music steers clear of the jam-band stereotypes you might expect from a group of book-bag wearing twenty-something’s. Rather, OT uses melodic guitar driven rock and emotional, sometimes conversational, sometimes dark lyrics to tackle the pressures of growing-up while finding (and keeping) post-adolescent love. This is summed up in two lines from "First Song", a mid-tempo rock ballad: "And our lives have changed now and so have we. But we’ll still be together yeah, you and me."

The future of OT remains unwritten, but with the release of their new E.P. "The Four Song E.P.", Oddfellows Temple is bound to continue stirring up the emotions of a like-minded rapidly growing fan base.
