Musical Notes

Manish Anand, a West Windsor resident since 1986, released a new CD, “Thank You Man,” an anthology of compositions spanning 15 years in music. “Each composition offers the listener a unique and unbiased sound for the senses,” says Anand, also known as OddMe. “Each composition challenges the listener in adventurous sonic worlds.”

Oddme’s musical journey began in the early 1990s as a DJ. He gradually moved into music production focused on club music, creating compositions for dance labels and his own releases. He also collaborates with club DJ Chris “Subject” English in the creation of the underground dance group Beatlevel.

The CD opens with “Bright Eyes,” featuring traditional sitar and modern sounds. Other tracks featuring modern rock, acoustic, and some Indian lyrics include “Fading Away,” “Can You Feel,” “Lost in Time,” “Why,” and Tum Ka Ho.” The title song, “Thank You Man,” presents Oddme’s view on war, justice, and its catastrophic end.

The CD is available on Cdbaby.com and will go to I-tunes for digital downloads. Visit www.myspace.com/oddme.

Oddme's aka Manish Anand musical journey began in the early 90's spinning records as a DJ. Liberated by music he gradually moved into music production. Oddme's productions focused on club music creating compositions for dance labels and his own releases. This lead to his collaboration with club DJ Chris "Subject" English in the creation of the underground dance group Beatlevel.

Just as Beatlevel represented a convergence of creative output Oddme set out to create his own vision of unique styles and sounds. Reflecting on his influences from critical listening and DJ-ing Oddme has developed a sound that is all things ... Oddme.

Oddme's music features traditional Indian flair to hip-hop ... modern rock to Top 40 ... dance to industrial. Oddme's poetic lyrics are equally unlimited in language and expression revolving around themes of love and Soul Mates to war and sadness.

Oddme's latest release "Thank You Man" has captured his vision.

The CD opens with the hard-hitting love song "Bright Eyes" featuring traditional sitar and modern sounds. Oddme then moves into modern rock performing the song "Fading Away." From modern rock Oddme shifts into the acoustic of "Can You Feel" developing into a powerful climax. Continuing on the theme of Soul Mates Oddme delivers the modern "Lost in Time" featuring lyrics in Indian. Escaping the realm of Soul Mates Oddme touches on denial in the rhythmic "Why." Reaching the title song "Thank You Man" brings Oddme's satirical view on war, justice and it's catastrophic end. After the war Oddme brings us to the wildly rhythmic and expressive "Tum Ka Ho." Closing the CD comes an up-tempo dance remix of "Fading Away."
