Bio

Remember Pun, Nobody beats the Biz-Nobody beats the Bizzzzz, Ghost-face……Ghostface Killahhhhh………….Enter 2010 and meet their imagined protégé MC/Rapper/ Entertainer Extraordinaire Raphael Marrero aka Oddy Gato of Albany, New York. Oddy Gato Records/Beatshot Music plans on becoming a premiere boutique indy production company/record label concentrating on the eccentric and often witty lyrical alter-ego styling of it’s lead-off artist, Oddy Gato.
Oddy Gato’s music creatively co-mingles heroic & prophetic New York street lyricism with old school hip-hop braggadocio and outlandish slapstick metaphoric humor. The music world has been working desperately in studios and boardrooms From L.A. to N.Y. for two decades to clone an artist of Oddy Gato’s caliber (imagine Big Pun rhyming at a party thrown by the Gym Class Heroes in the South Bronx with N.E.R.D. as the house band) cool right? And you’ll hear Oddy’s earned pedigree. Now the industry will have their unpredictable bull in the china cabinet, the ghost in the machine, and the rapper’s rapper all in one artist for their listening pleasure on CD’s & MP3’s, fans got a taste of what Oddy could do on his world renowned mixtapes Goldslinger & Oral Surgery but what will they do with this new sound? Really what are they going to do?
The ear with a good sense for what’s next should know Oddy Gato’s music is the ticket to stardom. Oddy’s unique sound caters to a plethora of the rap/hip-hop listening demographic all in simulcast: The hungry underground/backpackers looking for a lyrical meal. The skateboarders, the punks, the Goths, the Emos who love to grind days out rebelling against the system with a renegade tune as their cult’s theme music. The Reggaeton fans that are sick of every Latin rapper sounding the same. Oddy’s music also hits home with the alternative rockers who dabble in hip-hop now and then but can’t fully admit they’re rap fans & yes let us not forget about the MySpace girls who don’t mind getting their backs scratched by a Gato that raps.
Oddy Gato is featured on this year’s most anticipated and arguably best hip-hop album entitled Then What Happened by super MC J-Live on a wild party track called “Ole”. Oddy is known to MC a great house party now and again and “Ole” visually stimulates you to watch the whole scene from beginning to end.
Oddy Gato’s stage show is one of a kind and brings back the essence of rhyming and entertaining the fans, from great songs like “You Decide & Naked City” to almost what many fans and critics have equated to a stand-up HBO comedy special between songs, Oddy puts his all into his shows. Along with touring this year with J-Live, Oddy has shared the stage with many hip-hop notables including: Talib Kweli, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, and Albany’s own Broadcast Live.
Oddy’s debut album “Oddzilla” will hit the street smoking in late July 2008. Prepare for the best and expect to get what you’ve never heard before.

Compare him to none, Oddy Gato is an original!
