Bio

Ofentse is a native of South Africa who has an amazing captivating sound that has an astounding international flare. Ofentse first discovered his love of music, and passion for singing, at a tender age of eight, he soon made an unforgettable impression with his sensational, melodic voice through performing at numerous talent shows and special events. During the late 90's Ofentse got the opportunity to travel to America to live out his dream of becoming a singer/songwriter and enrolled at Seattle Community College. Shortly after arriving in the States, he began to gain recognition in the Seattle area as a promising young talent. As a result, Ofentse was given the priviledge of performing with famed, South-African singer, Jonathan Butler, at his concert in Seattle. Ofentse also managed to work with well-known producer Femi, who has produced tracks for exceptional artists such as Tupac, TQ and Envogue. In the summer of 2000 Ofentse's hard work paid off and he received his undergraduate degree in Marketing and was accepted to further his academic career at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta where he finally obtained his Masters Degree in Computer Science in the year 2003. However despite Ofentse's academic accolades, his true passion and love for music continued to grow as he repeated what he had done so well in Seattle and began entering local showcases and winning talent shows to make his musical presence known. In the summer of 2002 he was selected from over 200 000 contestants to represent Atlanta in Fox’s “American Idol -Search for a Super Star” competition and made it to LA reaching the top 40 in the competition. In 2005 Ofentse returned to South Africa and started his own record label and entertainment company called Soul-Amalgam Entertainment. That same year Ofentse co-wrote a song with famed jazz South African singer Linda Kekana. The song was for Linda Kekana's album "Kodumela" which took South Africa by storm and made it to the top of the charts in South Africa and resulted in Ofentse touring the USA with Linda Kekana. After returning from the States Ofentse's began touring with the late South African Diva, Lebo Mathosa as a backing vocalist and appears as a backing vocalist on Loyiso Bala's latest album "Blow Your Mind". Ofentse's popularity continued to grow and he was invited back to the USA to record his debut album "Introducing Soul-Amalgam" with Grammy award winner producer Ced Keyz International (Jazzy Pha’s partner aka Jazzy Fizzle)who has worked with artists such as; Ciara, Cherish, Chris Brown, Gnarls Barkely. Ofentse then invited Grammy nominated super producer Willie “Will” Briggs who has worked with artists such as Patty LaBelle and Kelly Price just to name a few on the album. His debut album in which Ofentse is the executive producer and writer of the songs featured on the album combines a variety of genres amalgamated with soul creating his unique distinct genre of Soul-Amalgam. Ofentse as an artist brand is symbolic of a groundbreaking non-conventional cultured male figure, combined with funk and soul portrayed in both his image and music. He is a mixture of elegance, sophistication, wildness and craziness which is effectively communicated in both his style and performance. He is a timeless brand that is able to express inspiration universally as a genuine and electrifying music messenger.
