ISHAD OVERDRIVE: BIO
Ishad Ahmad Neal (born January 15th 1987), better known as ISHAD OVERDRIVE, is a rap artist from Baltimore Maryland. Raised in the greedy projects of east Baltimore, Ishad wasn’t any normal kid. Cops sirens blaring every night, gun shots and fights all around never a peaceful night on Montford Ave, but he found an outlet in music.
Ishad loved to write songs and back then record them on a karaoke machine. It was kind of weird this young future star was more interested in the art of making music then playing outside with friends. That early talent then became a daily habit, which then became his life. As a child his mother had him and two younger brothers Asaad & Emonie Neal in several show casings, talent shows, and performances around town.
Even at an early age, Ishad loved to perform on stage in front of large crowds’ of people. That adrenaline of the crowd, singing along with him; is what fueled Ishad to become a rapper. It was in 2005 when Ishad along with other high school classmates came out with a rap group named “Da Flock”.
Wanting to expand his creativity; Ishad went solo and came up with his own record label. “Up South Rules Entertainment” In which he gave himself a name of Ishad Overdrive. It was in 2006 when Ishad released his own mixtape titled “The Beginning”
The positive feedback from his first mixtape encouraged him to continue releasing mixtapes “The Drive”, and “Skyscrapers” it was on these mixtapes Ishad showed his skills in beat making (producing). Ishad made various beats making Fruity Loops. Listening to his fans; Ishad started to write, and produce R&B songs.
In 2010 Ishad released his hit single “Polo Up”. The single became an instant hit and sold hundreds of copies. Ishad has performed in many shows also opening act for various artists like Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, Cali Swag District, Soulja Boy Tellem, and Rosco Dash Cali Swag District, Party Boyz, Charlie Boy And many more.
Ishad is now working on his 5th mixtape entitled “Why Not”, scheduled for release summer 2011.
