J. Skyy

Jared J.Skyy Moering, a 25 year old Jackson, Mississippi native chooses to represent his state through music with a keynote in promoting love. Originally named Streezy, he then changed his stage name to better suit what he stands for. The new name derives from the "J" in Jackson, MS and knowing that the sky is the limit ergo "J.Skyy" was born. "When living this life, you're subject to change...curl the haters and bench-press the pain."

J.Skyy was raised in a single-parent home with three siblings. He was introduced to rap by this his older brother who constantly kept 2Pac, Jay-Z, and Notorious B.I.G. on rotation. Family kept him humble as music helped Skyy to cope with many problems at home. J.Skyy began writing lyrics at the age of eight, recording his written lyrics onto his mother's answering machine. Skyy’s love for music would lead him to experimenting with becoming a musician, learning to play the saxophone and violin during his childhood. The love of his mother’s ear for “soulful sounds” can be heard in every line from his pen. After experimenting with different styles in college, he would find one that fit his swag and created a movement called M.T.M. (Music That Matters).

Specializing in lyrical masterpieces Skyy has been blessed to accomplish many musical works, that only get better in time. Not only is J.Skyy a rapper but he is an all-around artist (he even sings!). He holds no prejudice against "different" sounds. Skyy makes music that he loves; for the women, for the men, for for the club or just a joy ride. J.Skyy creates visuals in his listeners minds that they can relate to making him an easy listen but don't be fooled he's not an ABC rapper. Skyy has a message, in every track. J.Skyy represents the improvement one can make through the years of hard work and undeniable grind. He doesn't do it alone though, he has a small circle of significant individuals that work as a team to help produce the best audio tracks, visuals and clothing.
