Bio

The records reflect that Anthony Velazquez is a Veteran of the Gulf War Era served in the NAVY from July 8, 1996 to June 1, 2007 when he was Honorable Discharge to pursuit a professional music career. Some of his attributes while in uniform are:

GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, NAVY AND MARINES CORPS ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL, NATIONAL DEFENSE, GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM, SEA SERVICE, ARMED FORCES ESPEDITIONARY MEDAL AND MERITORIOUS UNIT COMMENDATION

Anthony Velazquez Calderon commonly known by his stage and childhood name MAKO was born in Levittown Puerto Rico with decedents parents from New York, reason why he and his little brother Eduard spent most of his childhood between the big city and the little island after the lost of his mom at the age of 8. During the late 80’s Break Dance era, MAKO began his passion for music, especially for the urban movement during that time.

Struggling in high school and facing the law for minor street altercates push Mako to look for new horizon back in the big city, New York. With limited opportunities he chose what it sounded the best at the time … The NAVY. While in service former ABH1 Velazquez tie the knot and became a father of two daughters, finished a Business Administration degree, became a DOD Fire Fighter and had the opportunity to experience local cultural music from different countries around the world like: Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Hawaii, Dubai, Jebel Ali and Spain, which it was the final piece of the puzzle and the hall for the music industry.

Beginning to hear his voice recorded at a local homemade studio with friends in Rota, Spain automatically the passion for music hit Mako’s head. Looking for some achievement in his new journey he released his first single La Loba, in collaboration with Santa Records from Spain in 2005. Following this big step in Mako’s new carrier as an upcoming artist he joint with long time friend and Miami producer Felix Caraballo. At the time with his short but promising music career in 2006 he claimed the European Top Charts with the release of his second collaboration single “Son Mussas” with Spanish singing group Mussas from Alma Records (Sevilla, Spain) and recording artist Don VA from Miami.

After receiving orders to leave Rota, Spain back in Jacksonville, Fl. he continuous writing and recording with producer Top Secret and a catalog of artists from the same independent label Top Secret Musik. In the summer of 2007 he receive the confirmation that he was Honorable Discharge to pursuit a professional music career and quickly move to Puerto Rico looking for the roots to define the sounds of his first studio album, the one he called IT’S MY SHOW.

MAKO is quickly achieving credits not only in the music industry but also as a big entrepreneur business man. This young rapper has already work with artist of international sound from Spain, Dominican Republic, United State and Hometown Puerto Rico for his upcoming album. No doubt about it that Mako will quickly become one of the top selling artists in this Latin Urban movement with the release of his first major album with songs like Jeringoza, Mi Gente, U must be Crazy and Yo no quiero which is a duo with his producer Felix Caraballo.
