Bio

Born from the depths of a cold Canadian winter, PEAKS are here to take the world by storm. This Ottawa trio features Nick Gagne on the microphone, Alex Prud'Homme on the bass and Dave Brousseau on drums.

All three are seasoned musicians and have participated in a variety of projects on their respective musical journeys. The result is a unique blend of hard rock, folk and dance music. Dave and Alex have been writing music together professionally and casually for the last ten years. After Alex left his last project to do something different, he and Dave began looking for a singer to complete the band that they had been dreaming of making since they were first inspired to pick up their instruments.

Nick, who had recently moved back to Ottawa after a four year stint in Toronto, was in the process of writing some new songs, and looking for a band to play them with. After a long day of browsing through Kijiji advertisements for country bands and female dubstep vocalists, Nick found Dave and Alex's group, then called Echoes Collide. They met and clicked immediately, warming up with some Echoes Collide tunes and jumping right into some fresh, improvised material which would later become the skeleton for PEAKS' EP "/\".

Since their first performance, PEAKS has earned a reputation for their passionate live show and audience engagement. With a presence that fills the stage, these crazy Canucks have a bass-heavy sound, hard-hitting drums and a high-energy frontman, that leave crowds shouting for more.

PEAKS' EP saw hundreds of downloads in the first days of its September 2015 release, and has since drawn comparisons to such artists as Queens Of The Stone Age, Muse, Death From Above 1979 and Royal Blood. At its heart, "/\" is about accepting the loss of a friend, overcoming self-doubt and pushing towards self-actualization.

Moving forward, PEAKS is writing new material for their upcoming LP, in preparation for live debut during their Spring 2016 North American Tour.
