Over a sparkling, harmonically pleasing beat by M.L.J, Tendayi expresses devotion to an old flame with honesty and the kind of nostalgic tint that makes people forget where they are.
"'One Love' is about the first girl I fell in love with, I didn't know how to express to her how much love I had for her so I just wrote a song about it instead to explain. M.L.J Tha Beatmaker sent me the instrumental and as soon as I heard it, I knew exactly what to write about. R&B is a difficult skill to master with nearly everyone trying their luck at singing no matter how big or small they are, but some voice are making their marks and it’s inspiring. Plaza, 11:11, Pryde and now with the rise of Tendayi and ROMderful, there’s just no telling where talent will creep up from next. Tendayi has been making sounds in the R&B scene all over UK and these days he’s getting bigger and bigger. With over 13K listens in just over a week on Soundcloud, Only One shows the true potential of today’s vocalists and these two are prime examples. The music scene is saturated with mainly Hip Hop artists and DJs and that’s never a bad thing, but R&B is deep within Hip Hop’s roots and we always need artists carrying that throne, these two are more than capable. With smooth vocals riding on top of some even smoother production by ROMderful, I can easily see this track sitting on our Top Tracks of the Month list. The phrase "incredible potential" is said numerous times when you have a young person at the age of 18 who can write, produce, sing, mix & master their own recordings. This is what seperates you from the rest in today's music industry. Tendayi is an example of someone who you would describe as "Musically Gifted", with every musical aspect becoming second nature to him.
Benjamin "Tendayi" Sibanda, a UK based, R&B Artist/Producer. Influenced by artists such as ELHAE, Eric Bellinger, Bryson Tiller & More, Tendayi is looking to mature and grow into an artist respected on his influences’ level.
Music has always been a big part of Tendayi’s life, his mother, being a music teacher & his father being involved in media; filming & recording audio. From an early age Tendayi also played the drums at his church & sang in choirs. When it came to the style that he has chosen, it all started when he was 11 years old, Tendayi was introduced to hip hop and rnb by his father, he then started developing his craft selling beats to artists all over the UK & the US, growing a core fanbase with his signature sound, that he calls "After 8 Music". All Tendayi wanted was to produce and he followed his dream until the age of 18.
At this point, Tendayi was not confident with singing out of church. After some time, Tendayi was finally convinced to record, produce and release a song titled "Pick up" sampling Travis Scott's "Pick up the phone".The amount of positive feedback encouraged him to sing on his music a lot more and has never stopped since.
